Dear CCP,

I have been playing eve for a long time, and on the MAC since 2011. Lets just say the experience is less than desirable. I am unable to play with sound, constant lag exiting stations, crashes, can't open multiple clients consistently(usually black screens at data loaded..)

I recently bought a jump freighter and the need for having multiple clients opened forced me to find an alternative. Enter Crossover + EVE Windows.. It is a completely different EVE expereince on the mac.

I found a thread here in the mac forums and its just nonsense that this runs better than the official CCP Mac Client. Please, and thanks.

Please like this thread if you're a mac user and would like to see cider replaced for a better Mac/EVE experience.. Especially since it has now been sold, etc.

Though, I do know that the Mac Client is very subpar compared to the Windows client - most of the blame (finger pointing) needs to be placed not on CCP but the software that allows it to run (A) Cider, and (B) Apple.

For most of mac users - we feel that Cider doesn't keep up with the changes we see in the windows version. Some of this deals with Cider development and some deals with the lack of graphical support Apple pushes through on their own within their OS releases.

I read something a while back that did a pretty good detail on which problem is belongs to whom.

Through replacing Cider would be a good choice, I don't feel it is the best choice.

Let's look at our options
1: Keep Cider - but do what we can to put more pressure on both CCP and Cider developers to give us a game that is on par with the windows client
2: Change over to a new Wine Bundle Company like Cross Over or Play On Mac. Both of which run the Windows version very well - but you lose a lot of the key binds as well as other issues (as I haven't used ether much, I can't speak of the problems)
3: Have CCP develop their own Wine Bundle and work closely with the wine developers to solve any issues.
4: Do a overhaul on the game and move to OpenGL/OpenCL systems (this works to some degree on all OS systems)

I agree, their has to come a new option for mac the time of windows only players is finished.

Hire someone who can actually help.

the least they could do is give a good detailed guide on how we create or own wrapper with the latest wine
cause the old forum and google posts we find are outdated and written in riddles.

give us the ability to change the keyboard functions to it for a mac if a wrapper gets released.
