Yes I have a touchscreen monitor, it works great, and no the finger prints aren't a big deal at all. Some of you must have greasy hands for that to be your biggest concern. Anyways THE REASON IM POSTING...

I just finished building a really great computer. Amazing processor, tons of ram, and a sick graphics card. It also has a 23 inch dell touchscreen which works exceptionally well. I love it. It even works with Eve BUT... when I click on something and pull up the sub menu, I can't select anything from that menu. I'll give an example to be clear: So say I'm in inventory and I want to sell a ship. Normally I'd right click on the ship name and select repackage from the sub menu. With the touchscreen I simply hold my finger on it for a moment and the sub menu pops up... unfortunately I have to use the mouse now as the touchscreen doesn't seem to recognize that submenu I just brought up. Anyone have any ideas? Thx

From what I can tell eve on a touch screen blows the chunkiest of chunks

it might have gotten better at some point but it was so bad I haven't wanted to try since.

umm good luck I guess?

A fully working Eve on touch screen just seems like a super awesome thing.

Then you could surround yourself with touchscreens and be super sci fi'd out, like you are really in the command chair!

I'd love that.

For me it works just fine. (Asus T100TA with Windows 10)

Touch based input is nice and I've tried manual flying with touch. However it's still some hit and miss so no PvP with touch...
For now I would only recommend it for sitting in station, travel and PvE.

Sometimes the truth is simply the truth. Touchscreens and Eve are like Lithium and water... don't let them mix.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

It would be, and over all I feel like most things are very close to working. Generally if the radial menu would open up on a touch that would be super duper. and there are a lot of places where it hangs up because the client doesn't seem to have any idea what just happened. The "mouse" was over there but the "click" was over here. That said I have no idea if it is an OS, Client, or device problem. The other thing is OP is on a 23" screen where I was on something just over 10. a lot of the time on the small screen it was just hard to click on the right thing, and a mouse made that so much easier, The right click menu is very dense with lots of options.

I'm tempted to go give it another try.

I used a touchscreen with EVE for awhile.

After a month I could do pushups with ease. And my forearms resembled that of a gorilla.

Sounds like it has come a long way since 2005 when I first tried it - because then it was not really what you'd expect Smile

I find it useful for monotonous tasks, mining and logi for example. mouse to do the basic anchor and targeting watchlist, touchscreen for target selection and module activation.

*ed ok, logi isn't monotonous

assign the right mouseclick to another gesture should help.

if configurable, you could assign the right click when two fingers on screen.
what does eve do when you press down the left button and after 2secs you click right?

But the reaction is so cool!!!
