Issue with the new Launcher (ALL settings deleted)

So I submitted a bug report but I'm also going to be mentioning it here. There's an issue where nearly 100% of my saved settings get erased. Window placement, overview, market quickbar, hotkeys--basically everything but my browser bookmarks.

I've gotten REALLY good and efficient at resetting my settings, but it appears to happen if your computer shuts down suddenly or unexpectedly. And since I'm currently on a laptop whose battery is basically just there to keep the dust from getting in, if my power cord comes out even a little my computer shuts down.

Yes, this is causing other issues for my computer, but still.

I would like my settings to be SAVED, and not randomly wiped every little bit because the launcher is a little twitchy at sudden shutdowns.

Also it's really ******* frustrating to have to go in and remap PI away from industry, clear alt for looking at, and only when you're in market realize all your quickbar items are gone, turn off music, turn off CQ, not to mention having to reset all of your windows to where they were at least once a day.

Today it's happened like three times.

this is especially frustrating when you're in the middle of doing something and have to try to do all these things on the fly.

let me clear that for understanding purpose :
- your computer crashes randomly
- after a crash you lose settings

Question 1 : do your settings get saved correctly without a crash? (close eve, relaunch eve, are settings ok?)

Question 2 : if the setting were previously saved correctly and the pc crashes, do the setting disappears ?

if the answer to these questions is "Yes" both time. then fix your computer : Windows is a system that runs your hard disk, what you are describing is file disapperance because of unclean shutdown/poweroff

2 things you can do to help yourself because CCP and no one in the world can fix that :
- run a check disk :
open a command line as administrator
run "chkdsk c: /F" without the quotation marks, it should ask you if you want to reboot to make a scan with repairs
reboot your computer and let the check run (with your kind of crash you probably already saw this countdown asking you to press a key to skip the check, don't press the key)

- make a backup of your settings simply by copying your settings files in c:\users\%username%\appdata\local\ccp
locate the right folder there (one corresponding to your eve install)
in this subfolfer there is "cache" and "settings", simply copy the settings somewhere and then recopy it back after a crash

(first option will probably not fix the problem but prevent more corruption, 2nd is palliative, as I said there is no fix, it's like saying "I run my prius in a tree for fun, then sometimes the wheels are squared, please toyota fix it")

another reason possible for the disappearance after the crash would be that the eve game folder (where the binaries are) is changing location, this effectively reset the settings as it create a new settings folder for each eve binaries location in the folder I gave you earlier
