I was talking about the old launcher.

I used the new launcher once. But even though I said I wanted to use my old settings they are all gone. So I am using the old one again.

Tried the new laucher today.
The settings from the old launcher did not get imported.
Also there was a list of postings on initial start that covered the "play" button which I only discovered when I (accidentally) somehow closed this list. Cannot reproduce it, did not make a screenshot.
The new launcher Icon looks bad at small icon sizes like I use it in Quicklaunch in my task bar: Quicklaunch Icon Size The old launcher Icon is much more distinguishable.

I miss the "Latest News" from the old launcher. I use it always to get the latest news about EVE.

This might have been covered before, but I really miss the patch notes link at the top of the launcher.

Any chance we could have a nice, obvious "patch notes" link like we do on the "old" launcher please? So much easier to click it from the launcher when you see there has been an update than having to go looky looky.

The server status and number of logged in players does not update properly at downtime when you get dc'ed for the maintenance time. For TQ, it continues to report ONLINE and a number of logged in players in the 1000s.

Yes, sorry - in my case it is the new launcher
I know the launcher itself is not gpu heavy but if I close it the GPU workload drops immediately

how exactly do you define "GPU Workload" ?
what metric are you seeing drop when you close the launcher?

apparently launcher is chrome based, do you have chrome installed? if so did you enable gpu acceleration in chrome?

Some things I'd like to see added:

  • A "Patch Notes" button to open the patch notes website, like the old launcher has.
  • Related to starting the client with a specific character selected, allow a specific setting profile for each character that overrides the account setting.
  • More granularity with settings copying. For example, copying only window positions, or only graphics settings.
  • Allow copying settings from one character file to another, or allow multiple characters to use the same (possibly synced?) core_char_#.dat and core_user_#.dat files. I would really like to select a settings profile and have it be the same for all characters using that profile, rather than each character having their own separate files within each setting profile.

Seems there is a problem installing on my PC; original posted in wrong eve launcher section

The initial error message relating to \Device\Harddisk3 is actually my card reader

My card reader has 4 slots that are:

\Device\Harddisk3
\Device\Harddisk4
\Device\Harddisk5
\Device\Harddisk6

Only upon disabling these in my control panel was I able to install the new eve launcher.

So until the installer is modified this is the fix if anybody else is having this issue.

I love the new/beta launcher, and I have been using it since it's announcement w/ no problems thus far.

Just wanted to chirp in my support of this:

  • Launcher - Should be able to minimize to system tray

Alt-tabbing through the Launcher to browser or w/e gets semi-aggravating.

Having just last night installed the beta launcher, here is this:

The pop-up text box covers the PLAY button.

It being obscured, it took a minute or 2 to figure out how to launch the client. Sad


On the other hand, I do like being able to launch more than one account at a time. Smile

The launcher can be minimized, just click on the "_" in the bar.

edit: Missed the part about the tray, my bad.......

Today i found that new laucher displays tranquility status incorrectly during downtime.
Old launcher shows that tranquility is offline, but new launcher shows tranquility online and 13k players online.

Check your setting in the "esc" menu

General Settings
Station (in the middle)
[X] Merge "items" and "ships" into station panel

Works well with Wine under Linux. On initial update had to manually kill the old version of launcher for the update to proceed, but no serious issues. Launcher is unable to kill running clients. So far major issues.

The launcher is awesome and makes doing certain things a lot easier particularly lunching multiple clients with different settings. My only complaint is for long periods the launcher becomes unresponsive requiring you kill it quite often, happens usually when I switch to sisi but given enough time, between 10 to 20 minutes it recovers sometimes.
