I wait until the xmas sales every year to get the games I don't want to pay full price for, and usually get some great deals. What did all of you end up getting this xmas season on sale and how were they?

For between $4 and 7$ each I got:
1. Bulletstorm - haven't played it yet, will later, was on sale today

2. E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy - horrible, horrible Japanese port, overly complicated, no discernible story line from the start, really just cobbled together cyber samurai, very weird and not very engaging.

3. Prototype - sorta meh, they hide the lack of graphic quality with lots of fast movement, not terribly bad though, introduction into the story could have been slightly better.

4. Operation Flashpoint: Red River - will play it later, didn't like Dragon Rising, but figured I'd give this one a shot, was cheap, looks better than DR.

5. Duke Nukem Forever - kinda meh, but wasn't really expecting much, had some laughs, will finish it for lulz eventually.

6. Portal 2 - awesome, couldn't stop playing until I finished.

7. Nuclear Dawn - decent for $5, still play a few matches here and there, worth $5.

8. Limbo - haven't played it yet, was like $2 or some crap, figured I'd get it for ***** and giggles, doesn't look bad.

9. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - kinda meh, decent enough for the price though, not disappointed in comparison to what I paid.

10. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - kinda ok, key mapping is kind of borked when trying to map the keys for left handed use, same as above, not disappointed for what I paid.

11. Oblivion - ok for the price, character models leave something to be desired, sort of got bored quick though, kept thinking to myself "I could just be playing an MMO instead with actual people." Seems a little overly complex for when you're just starting out and getting presented with vast amounts of choices with no real feel for what is going to suck or work for how you like to play these types of games. Once you get rolling though it's not bad.

12. Brink - awful, horrible graphics, horrible mechanics, very little in the way of engaging the player in any sort of cohesive storyline, stability sux, not worth the money.

Ok, let me pull up my email history from steam purchases! ... Lets see ...

Bought dungeon defenders awhile back, so I bought the latest DLC for the game. Worth it. And I play it almost everyday with somebody. :) Anyone that wanna play, give me an eve mail!

Terraria, 4 pack. One for my brother, myself, and sister, and one for my Eve-O buddy, but that ******* spy never got around to play with me. I love minecraft, so I'm sure I'll love this game, didn't really got around to play it yet.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution and DLC complete. Played two sides already, plan on doing other sides. Can't say i'm disappointed or anything, just something to keep me entertained.

Sonic Generations. Good game, tons of nostalgic moments. But they nerfed Super Sonic so bad, i'm questioning myself why I bought it, 3-4 rings PER second instead of 1 PER second. Le wtf sigh. :\

My brother bought Dungeons: The Dark Lord. He got a second free copy and gave it to me. Didn't try it yet.

X3 Albion Prelude. 2 bux and 50 cents, you can't go wrong there!

Jamestown. Even for 2.50. Terrible, don't really like it, Gradius shooter wanna be. :\

Defense Grid: The Awakening DLC: You Monster! 2.50. I'm so ******* glad I hold on instead of shelling $10!

Frozen Synapse - Two Pack. Was cheap kinda, almost 4 bux, and free bonus game copy. Just got it for achievements, lol

Railworks 3: TS2012 + Horseshoe Curve. chooo choooo ... What can I say. Even tho they have insane number of pricy DLCs, always interested. so bought it when there was a good deal. Probably highest percent off game from the x-mas deal. 90% if I recall. 40 bucks game into 4 bucks.

Bastion + Soundtrack DLC Now, this is probably the BEST purchase so far from the x-mas deal. GREAT game. I highly recommend it! Even if its orginal price, one of the great indie games out there!

Hm, Dungeon Defenders Halloween Costume Pack Dungeon Defenders Halloween Mission Pack Dungeon Defenders - Warping Core Challenge Mission Pack DLC Dungeon Defenders - New Heroes DLC. I think that's before xmas deal, so that's all I bought from the event.

398 games I own right now.

I caved in prior to New Years. Deus Ex : HR (Extended ed, + DLC and Packs), SimCity 4, and Fractal (which is dying on its launch screen, not Steam's - I have a ticket open on that).

[Now, where can you find a physical strategy guide (not PDF) for Deus Ex HR?]

Saw Skyrim finally go on sale 1/1/12, nearly fell off my chair laughing because I guessed right that it would happen. Still not getting it yet.

Total War Shogun 2, got it for 20euro few days after it was on sale for 10 =( but alas it was still worth it, hated last few Total Wars but this seems like a return to what made original ones so great. Also Co-Op Campaign, **** yea!

Got this one too, for US $9.99. Yep, a good one. Somehow the feudal Japan setting makes the situation more tense than the other Total War titles. Maybe because the map is smaller, distances are shorter, and it's more overpopulated with rivals. This one seems more like a real wargame compared to the more recent titles. Kind of like the original Shogun: Total War was. Smile

Steam is evil :( I finally got suckered into buying Skyrim when they put it down to about £23

You know it's bad when you go through the list of things you purchased a week afterwards and recoil in surprise and shock at the stuff you bought. Did I really buy Batman Arkham Asylum and TW Napoleon?!?!

Good games I purchased were Skyrim (frustrating UI but beautiful world for exploration and engaging quest stories) at 23 quid, then some older games which I had on CD but I wanted digital copies: Quake 2, Rome TW and Dark Messiah. I also love Orks must Die, and Limbo. Bought a lot of other stuff but haven't played them yet.
