I kill the pod and contract the loot back sometimes.

Always pod unless its a prearranged 1v1.

Most folks keep their clone the same place they keep their ships...so I am simply providing them a much more time efficient way to reship and come at me again :)

One thing I do despise is "holding" the pod for an entire fleet to get on it...for some reason that has always seemed a bit lame to me.

Case by case basis really; depends on circumstances.

I enter system in T1 frig. A younger player, flying something I cannot engage, ships down to a T1 frig to fight me. I won't pod him, and will usually contract back loot.

Very young player engages me in a combat ship; I'll kill him, pod him if possible, then contract his loot back and give him some isk. It's important they learn, but I don't want to run someone off from PvP.

Very young player mining/ratting in low-sec. Kill them, pod them. It's about standards... Maybe give loot/isk/advice if they're nice.

I jump a Rifter, his buddies warp in. It's now three on one. I'll pod every single one of them if I can and keep any loot.

Edit: If they use EW, and I somehow end up holding the field, they'd better be quick to warp their pod. Lol

I think in FW or any war that podding is completely acceptable and should be done whenever possible. Why? Simple. Part of war is to destroy your enemies finances. The more money they have, the more they can expend on weapons to destroy you. Quite often the destruction of a pod is far greater of a financial loss than the ship itself. I should know, I recently lost a 1.4bil clone.

If anything, I consider pods a potential weapon because all of those implants they have or might have enable the enemy to be more lethal. If you don't do everything in your power to reduce your enemies lethality, you are horribly failing in the art of war.

So, pod away. Feel good that you are doing something to further your cause, whatever it may be.

If someone is flying in space, it should be killed, if it can be killed.
