My name is Boson, I am the Mildir of the Dixon Cox Butte Preservation Society, the Alpha corp in TISHU.

Although I am a relatively newer player, I am uniquely qualified for this position in that I oversee the use of caps and supercap on a daily basis, in addition to using them daily myself.

As a former member of black legion leadership, and a current member of tishu leadership, I play the game at the top level, and have all but mastered many aspects of the game, especially fitting (hands down the most difficult thing to learn in hte game) as well as engagement theory for everything from solo to smallgang, twh pvp, sov warfare, and everything in between.

Unlike many of the candidate in this thread, I do not currently and have never had what anyone would consider to be an overwhelming capital force to call on when I get tackled and think it is vitally important for smaller groups to be represented by someone who uses and orders the use of caps with the knowledge that unlike PL, NC, or the CFC, they can't just turtle and wait to be saved in the event that SHTF.

I had the best seat in the house as a member of bl leadership to see the impact that phoebe had on nomadic groups, and understand the plight of the individual super pilot trying to catch up with the rest of his friends, as well as the plight of the newbro attempting to deal with an opponent that has complete capital superiority.

I currently have characters and fly with groups from over 4 major groups in eve, giving me a level of insight into the roles that caps play in a wide variety of entities, from Brave Newbies to Black Legion (rip), and everything in between.

I also have a very stable timezone flexilbe schedule which allows me to invest a lot of time in EVE.

Lastly, and most importantly, I have a wide group of friends, encompassing pretty much all types of capital gameplay from c6 wh pvp to sov null cap brawls (kvn, hurley, hed) to lowsec pos bashing, and can provide ibsight into the playstyle and issues a wide range of playerbase encounter.

Here are a couple examples of discussions I started with the intent of hearing the community experience with phoebe, as well as to bring exposure to an aspect of gameplay that I considered to have some intrinsic issues that needed to be looked at.

Hello,

I have extensive experience in capitals in Low Sec, Null Sec and W-space

I fly 3 of the 4 dreads and 2 of the 4 carriers across my characters.

I go balls deep with ships people tell me are bad and I have been playing EVE since March of 2004

I flew a Phoenix before it was good.

VIDEOS!

2 - PIZZA's HOME

I actually enjoy triage and I have both combat and pve experience at the task.

Thank you for your consideration.

Hi CCP,

I am willing to participate in this focus group.

Personally I love flying capitals and I have been doing so since '11. Having a chance to support CCP with feedback is pretty awesome, I will do my best to do so.

As an alliance diplo I can also gather feedback from our military & capital/supercapital department if need be to support feedback on this topic.

I guess I well throw my hate in the ring here.

I have been a capital and supercapital pilot for sometime. I have been part of coordinating capital fights since 2009. I participated in FCing B-R. I am pretty well known inside PL for both my general and tournament theorycrafting. Grath Telkin can certify I brought to eve the initial incarnation of the nightmare that is slippery petes.

I have been theorycrafting AT and normal fleets for PL for many years. I am used to focusing on (and trying to break) the games balance in very analytical ways. While much of this is hidden away in the pl forums, an example of my work can be found here.
Those on the PL tourney team will testify to me spending days and hours chatting with other theorycrafters and PL FC's to better our fleets. I'm also a professional software engineer in distributed systems that serve millions of concurrent users.

I believe I could provide value in this discussion not only as an experienced player, but as someone who has spent years trying to find holes in the balance of eve. Often with great success.

Hi.
I'm interested in participating in this focus group.

Why?

Because I invented 'FISHING' , killing a jumpfreiter/carrier with a dread on a hostile pos/hostile cyno generator.
Back then it was called 'getting nynced'.
Getting nynced back in 2009

I was one of FC's in a FIRST dread on dread HOT DROP.
First dred on dred HOTDROP back in 2006.
After watching this video, many people started to play EVE.

I hotdropped with my dred/carrier/titan fleet almost all famous fleet commanders of EVEonline, who posted in this topic above me.
Like in this video Pandemic Legion capital fleet led by Shadoo, getting hotdropped.

I was the FC and mastermind in supercapital battles of Uedama and O2O.

I flown and had all capital and supercapitaL ships in EVE ONLINE.

I killed countless titans, supercarriers, dreds, carriers.
I killed countless capital fleets.
I repped countless POSes with carriers.

Every capital/supercapital FC in EVE ONLINE knows me.

I believe i tried all and every aspect of capital warfare in this game and my experience will be very helpfull to CCP to improve this type of player experience.

I would like to participate in this focus group based on my own interests in seeing capitals/supers come out looking well, and a desire for new forms of content.

I'll freely admit that a good deal of my experience comes from PVE, and using carriers/supers as flying space LTL haulers. I have a reasonable basis in most every form of farming one can do with cap's outside of the old days of tracking titans and Cap escalations.

Logistics wise ive been involved in significant capital move operations both at the personal level, and the alliance level with multiple groups now.

Have talked with folks heavily in #Capitals and provided at least 1-2 non **** ideas and general feedback on other propositions.

I have been flying a range of Capital ships for some years now, from extensive triage to unique fits to motherships and titans. Having worked hard on how to fly them and how to kill them, I would like to take part in the discussion.

I have included lots of capital action in a few videos.

After a rousing discussion on the #Tweetfleet slack channel #capitals, I decided I ought to at least throw my newbie self into the ring.

I have been playing EVE for several years now, on my sub-cap pilot Nac Lac and lately as a multi-boxer with this account, focused on carrier skills.

I am new carrier pilot, despite having owned my nidhoggur for over 4 months now. I've only seen combat as part of a quickly thrown together POCO bash fleet. I FC'd despite zero capital experience but only with 4 total carriers on field.

I am an avid reader and try my hardest to learn as much as possible about the mechanics before I engage in an activity in EVE. Despite being a green cap FC, we managed to reinforce several POCO's that night and jumped the group out under my direction, evading a 30 man hostile roaming fleet (not reported on intel), without a capital loss.

I do my best to read blogs and play with EFT for random scenarios (discovered to my surprise that a shield>armor>hull erebus with high grade slaves, under current mechanics can get over 70 million EHP with X type modules. Without links too).

While I am fairly new to looking at the underpinning mechanics of EVE in the realm of capitals, I have been min/maxing in gaming since 2006 when I started raiding in WoW, researching and theorycrafting to figure out the best fits and skills for the given task.

I enjoy looking at new ideas, turning them on their head and seeing how they would play out in reality and pointing out the small or sometimes large details that could drastically alter the implemetation of the idea. The health of the game is much more important than the enjoyment of a small subset of players. Balanced capital use will keep the game strong and gain new players in addition to encouraging old players to come back.

hi

i've been flying and FC'ing every kind of capital in nearly every kind of imaginable role for the past four years or so. including carriers (triage/pantheon), dreads ('dread bombs,' blap dreads), and supers/titans (with and without support). I'm the main FC for my alliance which uses caps of some form on a daily basis, as well has having flown with Pandemic Legion and FC'd for Northern Coalition. I've FC'd capitals and supers extensively before and after the Phoebe expansion, operating under the threat of the leering PL/NC super fleet, and as a part of it.

As an FC and leadership of an alliance that revolves around caps I spend a lot of my time theorycrafting caps and asking/answering all the 'what if' questions that come up whenever capital rebalances happen.

There's no use crying after every mistake, you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake.

I would be happy to contribute to this focus group. I am in a fairly small alliance of very experienced pvpers who have fielded groups of capitals under various circumstances to great effect and without the benefit of some massive fleet-in-being to protect us or bail us out. I am a great EFT Warrior™ and have put some thought into the challenges of balancing caps with the upcoming changes. As a result I have a few suggestions I think could help quite a lot, along with warnings of a couple of pitfalls you will have to deal with during this process.

I'd like to sign up for this.

I have a lot of experience fighting and flying capitals in higher class wormhole space, from small and larger scale fights and using them for escalations. I was CEO of Triflexure, CO-CEO of No Vacancies, and current CEO of Polarized, and I enjoy managing my corporation, setting up fittings+ops, and dealing with people on a day to day basis. I myself currently fly the Naglfar, Phoenix, Archon, and Chimera.

I've always enjoyed wormhole space the most, but I do know the importance of capitals in K-space, particularly nulll. I would like to ensure that capitals are enjoyable to fly but adequately balanced, in hopes to nullify some of the current problems that capital ships have.

Slack isn't a problem for me, I currently use it with my corp, it's a handy tool!

Greetings,

Even though I'm not a member of a Player group at the moment, that shouldn't be a determent of my knowledge.

I have extensive knowledge of the Industry Capital shipline. Spending a great deal of time in Null/WH/Low/High using these ships in both PVE and PVP scenarios.

While I have limited knowledge with Super Capitals, I don't see this being a bad thing. As someone with limited knowledge in this field, I might be able to raise questions and suggestions that the Veterans might not.

I'm probably late to the party, but I would like to do this. I haven't flown much in the way of caps until recently. And I've mostly been in a pve focused environment with a carrier. I fly both logi and dps in fights, and have a good understanding of how the game mechanics work. I want to see that the cap balance is done right, and doesn't bring the hammer of god down on W-space in particular. We have a unique style of gameplay that I don't want to see destroyed.

Hello,

It seems like a group has already been selected, but my friendly neighborhood CSM suggested that the group might benefit from some diversity, and a voice from the smaller scale capital-using alliances.
I run a small gang PVP alliance with a long history in low-sec that made the leap to NPC null, and then sov null following the Aegis changes. Our experience with capitals typically involves fleets of 15 capitals or less, often 5 or less, supported by subcapital fleets in the 20-50 range.

My corporation’s first capital goals were to gain experience using a combination of triage and tracking dreads to fight much larger fleets than we could fight effectively with subcaps alone, and to get every one of our pilots into a “suitcase carrier” so that we could deploy to new hunting grounds regularly.

Our next goals were to field dread fleets that could hit large hardened POS towers in a single cycle, as anything more with pre-Phoebe jump ranges would have been suicidal.

Having achieved both of these goals, our next mission was to branch into Titans that we have primarily used for bridging, and occasionally used post-Phoebe for surprise Doomsday drops. I have dealt with moving various supercapitals across the map pre- and post-Phoebe, have caught and killed the occasional unsupported super, but I am not (yet) the voice of supercap fleet vs supercap fleet combat.

A group like mine has benefited tremendously from the Phoebe jumprange reductions, as we feel very confident in our ability to scout 5 LY around a target system, and make risk/reward decisions accordingly. We also made good use of the new mobile cyno inhibitors when they were released. We were certainly victims of pre-Phoebe projection on many occasions, and increased our capital usage significantly post-Phoebe.

Finally, I am the voice of a group that is not interested in mutual protection agreements with our neighbors. Aside from member alts and recruits, we do not have long-term blue standings with any other alliance, nor do we recruit aggressively in any effort to match our opponents fleet participation numbers. When we make the decision to commit capitals, we make that decision more often than not with the assumption that every other entity in range is hostile, and most of them have more pilots than we do.

If this is still open:

I have lived all over New Eden that being in W-Space with the big boys rolling countless C6 > C5 wormholes to living in Null-sec with NC. / TRI to low-sec in Shadow Cartel.

I have used many capital ships in all spaces (Carriers, Dreads, Super), I feel my knowledge & experience would help not just CCP but the Focus Group & the wider community.
I am very open to listening to all opinions and contributing when required.
I don't represent the big blobs but all eve players with a small voices mainly aimed at the wormhole community.

I am EUTZ & play eve every-night.

I am one of the most active fc's in the 0.0 community.
I have fc'd more capital and super capital fleets than most likely any other player in the game.
I have owned and built every single capital and super capital in the game, using them all at one point or another in belts, sanctum, solo, small gang, bloc level fights, and wormholes when mechanics allow it.
