Hi

Cant wait for the Citadels to come out, We live in a C4 and wanting to build a Large one is it possible to put a large in a C4 ???

From what I have heard around the water cooler it is going to be possible but very very difficult.... first you must find a way to get a medium citadel into your hole. Then you have to find a way to make it manufacture a large citadel then you have to build a freighter to be able to move the citadel far enough away from the medium so you can anchor it.
Knowing CCP they will make the medium citadels too big to haul in, in anything smaller than a freighter so we end up having to build a freighter in the hole to transport the citadels to where we want to deploy them.


Classic Chicken and Egg/ Catch 22 or insert you favorite recursive definition here.

Just goes to show you where we wormholers well the C1-C4 residents rank in CCP's eyes.

Actually a packaged medium citadel can be hauled in a DST, a packaged large citadel requires a freighter. So you'll have to get a medium or the production facilities then build a large from minerals moved in to your hole.

I watched the video about them they say med can be deployed by a normal hauler

my plan is to setup another POS and build a freighter then bring all the bits in to build a large at the POS and then anchor it job done

The dev blog said larges would have to be hauled by a freighter, but (last I heard) the actual volume was only going to be around 80k m3 (which is haul-able in an Orca)

Of course CCP seems to have retracted all statements regarding this, and has since said that they are discussing it.

CCP will be changing to a freighter required. Also you assuming your pos will be around long enough to allow you to use it to build anything.

Is it going to be a good idea to put a Large in a wormhole? Or will it be pretty easy to defend / hard to destroy?

I'm still lost on the orders of magnitude we are talking about for the citadels.

Principle I woudl use id if you have caps and don't want to live in them, go large, otherwise go medium, to show epeen.. go with xl. But its early days.

If you want to Dock caps then you need a large. Otherwise a medium is the safest and least amount of financial risk

Hard Knocks will rush to get the first XL up for epeen, and we want to DD our own dreads!

I'm sure some people will have personal XL's b/c they have nothing better to spend thier isk on.

Buy a Citadel and find out. Buy it. Poke it. Put a tarp on it. A week later take the tarp off and look at it again. Poke it some more. See if it will fit here, or there, wherever. Eventually you will get it to go where YOU want it to go.
