One thing that bothers me quite a bit is the fact that every industrialist or inventor is making the same items every other one is
i would like to see options for making unique items maybe drones with better durability ships with a extra high, mid or low spot ect ect giving corporations their own signature products not saying it should be easy to do but when you do it should be a big deal just a conversation piece...

why do you think CCP make huge effort to even re-balance ships every new patch?

Yes for sake of argument lets say there would be a balancing cap per different thing changed so it would be weaker at one point and stronger on the 0ther and 8it w\it would be a pure role deal ie when we see a interceptor we dont automatically assume its going to scram us

This question comes up every now and then. The problem why it won't work is always the same: As a video game, EVE literally can't introduce real invention, the end.

Why is it so hard to grasp that you can't introduce "unique items" without titanic efforts in allowing players the necessary freedom and balancing all that freaky stuff players will invent is plainly impossible.

You can do "real" invention in games like Space Engineer, where inventing new things is the entire point of the excercise. A game more oriented on balanced PVP and exploration, like EVE Online, can't support an endless flood of weird items with weird effects.

Sometimes I think people talking about "real" invention are in truth trying to get CCP to give them better items, not new items. Which would be hell to balance, but at least possible. P

Its been done before....so your point is moot and like the the different types of ships it would would be a trade off system....unlike the different types of ships you wouldn't be showing your cards the second you warped in

and it wouldn't be so open that we could pick and choose its to the effect of it but rare enough that when a corp finds it they have a unique product that other corps dont

Let me get this straight...

You want to introduce tons and tons of iterations of common objects which will unnecessarily obfuscate their utility, power and purpose? This is precisely opposite the purpose of the Tiericide project.

...also, if I understand your intent, you're saying that you wish for there to be player-introduced variety? Would the following example be accurate to your hopes here?

The Sinawi Raven - since I primarily mission and am a completionist: cap recharge +5%, +1 utility high slot. ...minus 1 low slot.

... or something like "+5% base speed, -5% agility" (tradeoffs, right?)

... is this something like what you have in mind? If so, I could see it working for ships, such as mentioned here... but I can't imagine how it could truly be applied universally, to modules, etc, as well. That would be far too convoluted, IMO. Even as related to ships, there is already such a variety of ships, fits and roles, that I feel like this role (of customization) is already possible through fitting ships as we deem appropriate for our individual activities already, making a system like this redundant. (sorry!) I do like the idea, though. It'd be really nice to be able to do this.

Maybe they could allow it for those vessels that we build ourselves - a trait that the ship loses the moment it's repackaged - it should require some insane requirement, though (like, all LVL 5 skills for every single skill required to fly the ship in question).

Ugh, no.

Reminds me of the frustration of re-rolling random item stats in WoW, because only one (the best) type sells,

Plus there is the overhead of all those different items in the database, and they are not stackable being unique items.

The closest to that in EVE is (or was... I've not built them in ages) random T3 subsystems. I stuck to predictable hulls.
