Hi,
I installed Eve on Linux mint 17.2 with help of Wine1.7.50, the game works fine just the FPS are too low. Installed winetricks. Active[d3dx10: d3dx11_42:_43: d3dx9 up to d3dx9_43; d3dxof: directx9: msvcirt; msxml3: quartz; vcrun2005:08:10:]

Winetricks helped lifting the FPS from 25 to 30 all settings down at 1080x920 borderless window.
System: gtx680 6gb1600ram phenom ii x4 965. Installed on an ssd.

I would give more info but i dont know what to look for, am new to that linux world. I just need 60fps and some visuals.

Have you installed the proprietary drivers for your graphics card?

Do you run into the same performance problems with other 3D games? You can try out for example Nexuiz, 0 A.D., MegaGlest, or Scorched3D, all of which are free software and should be available in your package repository.

Tried out two 3d games on steam and scorched 3D. They worked fine, i have no FPS counter but they seem very smooth 60fps.

Have you installed corefonts, d3dx9_36, and vcrun2010 with winetricks; and disabled d3d11 in winecfg?

I tried Nexuiz in full screen and my fps where bad there too. In a window mode the fps are better.

May by the driver?

Could be. Can you try updating them to the latest version?

I was getting a lot of skipping too, I didnt do any of the tricks on the wine HQ page at first except dx blah blah blah 35 and 36 and corefonts. I read this thread, then the winehq page and did all that, it helped a bit. Then I looked at my running processes and the launcher was being a CPU whore. I closed that ***** down and it runs a ton smoother now.
