T3 Dessy or Faction Crusier for DED 4/10

hi there,

I am a returning Player and may ask, if a T3 dessy (like Confessor or Hecate) will do as good for DED 4 serpentis sites as say a Navi Vexor (all ships can be T2 fitted, be it tank, weapons or drones)

I was thinking in terms of higher "travel Speed", smaller ship-class (can also enter a site below 3/10) vs a bit more "firepower", bigger ship-class.

Normally, I go with an Astero for scanning sites down (and do relic, data and I think up to 3/10s), but I also want to put my Hands on 4/10´s, as i find them...

Really Need some Input on that one!

thanks in advance

hey Uriam,

can you specify, what do you mean by "any turret T3 destroyer"?

Turret=hybrid, laser, autocannon - but no missiles?

So any T3 dessy, but the caldari one?

I was thinking about the Hecate (because of highest KN/TH res), but Confessor, because of
"you do not need to carry much ammo with you, when exploring"

- I think, when I go prop-mode in a 4/10 nothing should hit me anyways?

You can do 4/10s in an AF.

just match the resists to the rats and get a repper/small booster.

Here is Confessor fit I'm using for most hi sec sites.

It can run all 4/10s comfortably and most unrated sites assuming you are familiar with specific site gotchas.

Ok - would an Ishkur be as good (fast) in terms of killspeef, like a Confessor?

So AF=T3 destroyer?

Thanks Matt, that´s a solid (bit of tanky) fit. Looks good, can you tell if there is a big difference in terms of killspeed compared to an AF?

Confessor should be faster. She can do more dps at close while still project around 250 dps at 45+km and unlike Iskhurs drones its instant damage application with no delays Big smile.

if you use a worm you can also enter the smaller 1/10 sites which can still offer quite a bit of faction loot. it also has 300 dps out to your drone range and no tracking issues.

@Matt

Is it save to assume, a Hecate would be better suited for Serpentis, because of better resists?
Or is the DMG of a confessor superior and one will take no amage anyways, because of "fly in prop mode"?

I did a 3/10 in my Astero a few minutes ago - I think next time, I will try a T3 destroyer for this.
(Last stage took me quiete a while)

@Titus

I will have a look at this one, too!

Thank you guys!

@Titus

ok, I´ve found a good Worm Fitting, but it´s Kind of expensive (around 250mil)

So it goes between Worm or Confessor, I guess. Only downside using a Worm will be my non-existent
Missiles and shield skills Ugh

T3D's will run 4/10's just fine but not as fast as you might like. They will travel around quicker than a cruiser but when you're actually in the ded site it might feel slow. I fly around in a 700 dps rlml Gila atm and I like it more than my Confessor.

I might just suck at flying dessies tho :p

edit: Gila is allowed in all 3/10's and I think the lower Drone sites as well.

Yes, I read about the Gila - hmmm, 235M just the hull - but it Looks like, it is well worth it.

So Confessor or Gila...

Why not just try both and see what you like more?

I flew Gila for long time before i moved to Phantasm because i got tired of medium drones being slow and switching targets even more slowly and waiting for 30 seconds for them fly from one trigger in Guristas watch to another trigger on opposite side of the room......Roll

Phantasm was great and almost as tanky as Gila but it still too slow at jumping around.

Good idea, Matt.

I will Train T2 Lazors and jump in the confessor and maybe train for Gila, then.
The T3 dessy will serve well for PVP purposes anyways, so allways nice to have in one way
or another. Can not see something is wasted, when first fly confessor and then Train for gila.

Confessor will take me just a few days and somewhere between 60-70M or so... no big Investment!

Confessor or Hecate is nice because you can range tank the sites since they get very long optimal in sharpshooter mode so you can focus on damage. Also instant damage application from turrets is much more efficient than drones in frigate heavy sites which 3 and 4/10s tend to be. I run 2-4/10s for Blood Raiders and Sansha in a PvP fit kite Confessor and it can handle them with no problems and can do them quite fast.

Great!

I bought a Confessor and train up small beam weapons a bit, so I can use T2 on this ship.
Maybe I fit some grav-rigs and see, if the confessor will be ok for scanning, too.

Then it would be kiind of "all into one ship", like a baby-T3 cruiser ;)

Cheers

It also gets CPU bonus for fitting probe launchers so yeah, it can scan quite nicely. You probably don't need grav rigs for highsec combat sites as they are pretty easy to scan especially if you have Astro V and can fit a T2 launcher or just use a sisters launcher.

Or Stratios with sentries, even has a covert ops cloak.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!
