The way grids work in EVE.

I mean, it's pretty cool that some folks have done research to figure out just *how* broken grids are, and have even found ways to gain tactical in-game advantages from grid behavior. Kudos for that.

But if you're honest, I am sure you will agree that having invisible walls in space is not very intuitive. Or very sane. It sounds much like something a third-rate programmer might have come up with as a desperate optimization measure.

How hard can it be to simply show all objects within a certain range?

I may be wrong but orginally the grid a a cube of 200Km and you see all the cube adjacent to it, meaning you'll see from 200 to 400km at maximum range.

this is no wall but overview max horizon

Now I don't know how this broken grid are working, or how did they break in the first place, but it still looks like this in the space I fly in (like getting afk for a minute or 2 at 3000m/s and getting "off" grid the overview works like I described and I don"t hit a wall)

Again, I didn't research grid, I may be wrong, but what would you want it to be?

much obliged, I learned something new \o/ (my knowledge was previously campfire oral tradition passed down from before the wiki lol)

I'll let you wait for an answer if someone understand your question at ccp while I read the goons pdf in more detail
