Strange repeating ambient signal?

Hey,

Sometimes when I'm in a system, or even a wormhole I hear a strange noise in the background which sounds a bit like this, but more muted; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM9Xzsf4M2o About 20 seconds in.

I've ruled out any of the normal sounds from my ship & the UI, since I've been stationary at the time and not doing anything. I'm wondering if it could be an indicator to the presence of a Thera hole, or something else altogether. I'm curious to know if it's something others have noticed, or if anyone knows what it is.

I'm not saying it's aliens, but...

There once was a ganker named tisi

A stunningly beautiful missy

To gank a gross miner

There is nothing finer, cept when they get all pissy

Anoms do it to you sometimes.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

I know back when Odyssey came out, mousing over anoms would produce various forms of white noise, sometimes alternating in volume and intensity between site types and how close or far from the center of the track the mouse was. That may still be the case. The noise is faint enough that you can have trouble picking up on it if there are other sound effects or music playing.

Either that, or you should probably check your sound hardware for signs of failure; could be headphones, audio cables, speakers, or sound card going bad. You could also be picking up some kind of interference from another source. My headphones do that from time to time as well.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

A logical theory, though the noise I hear is very distinctive and nothing like white noise you get when mousing over anoms. A completely different sound which can be heard as clearly as music. I'll see if I can Fraps the sound or something next time I encounter it. Anyone who has heard the same sound will know what I'm on about with the OP description of it.

My headphones are a brand new set of Sennheiser's, speakers are also new but hardware issues would be mostly uniform and occur whilst watching videos and such but no such issues. I've ruled anything like that out since it only happens playing Eve.
