Welcome to EVE - The greats game community in the world.
We will lie cheat and murder every chance we get.
And We expect nothing less from you.

But, we are always there to give you an hand up in the rough times, to remember those "doh" moments and laugh at the dumb things we do, and we will shed a tear when you leave us.

I have been in a number of communities, and this is by far is the best one. If you want to make the best use of this community, you have to bring all that you have, and this group will see to it that you do.

Again welcome to EVE - fly for fun, and fly to give some else fun.

Edit: p.s. Divine Demise is a Provi Bloc Corp with 0 sp entry requirement.
As I player I was once in your shoes and I try to do my part to help others.

As stated above there a great number of groups to join up with that can help you learn to be the best you can in EVE for whatever you want to do in EVE!

I am now hiding under a blanket in Null sec :)

I have just bought my first ratting ship and when I actually have the skills to fly it I shall go forth.

When wife allows some more technical stuff will beckon. ATM I have no clue. Lot's of people here eager to help though.

Dive in head first, get dead. Learn. Rinse, repeat.

Wish me luck.

Oh, boy. I remember my first days in EVE! Very exciting and wild time.

The small choices you make...how the Butterfly Effect truly does dominate your path in EVE.

Welcome to the party! Hope you stay for a long time! There's no other game quite like EVE!

I recommend completing the Career Agents first. :P

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

-STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!

Just realised something. This is what I wanted. Undocking and feeling a little bit of pooh poking out in anticipation. Excitement.

That's True...

Assuming "anywhere" includes hospital psych wards, maximum security pens, and hang outs for self abuse experts...

OMG.

So much to do that is just admin.

Getting my skill plan sorted out. Then waiting for it to get me the stuff I need. I had not made bad choices thank god so some is already done. Is there a way to import the plan into the game so I can cut down on the clicking? Waiting for a skill to complete before I can inject the skill book is a pain in the butt.

Realising all these cool ships I've got now are not flyable until I have the skills to make the modules and rigs function :(

Ah well, fun first day in corp but mostly my game time was spent sorting things out. I only undocked to work out insta dock and warp thingumajigs.

Yeah though of course those sort of individuals have lots of time to play and generally little money for subs. Living in a psych ward or jail does not automatically make you a psychopath and bad person either.

It goes without saying if you are young, fit, healthy, attractive to the opposite sex, with money and opportunities and are free to get out of the house at will you likely spend far less time online then someone institutionalized. disabled, living in a war zone or housebound due to parents/partner/kids etc etc .

Too busy playing and learning to post an update here for a while, a good sign I think.

Null sec, after a move from cloud ring down to querious is no longer as terrifying as it was. Just be paranoid enough seems to be the way. I have completed stage one of the learning process and I've stopped dying for REALLY stupid reasons. I now only die for quite stupid reasons.

Fleet stuff, without a clue as to the mechanics of the game, not fun. Now, after two months of skilling up and shooting rats and not dying to every neut I see, I may try it again.

I love the fact that eve does not try to be "fair" or "balanced". it's all about the efficient butt **** of the other chap by the most efficient means possible. Or in my case, avoiding said bumming. They have four svipuls and you're in a thrasher? Hard cheese. Run or die. this is good, and there is fun to e had crashing said gate camp and getting clear to a safe. In an iteron, Only lost 3 in 2 days figuring out that one...hohum, cheap lessons :)

I am now getting the itch to start killing other people. And nicking their stuff. I may need a second account for that....

LOL
Although...the playerbase in this game tends to be a bit older, so it's probably more likely for you to be rebalanced by a 24-year-old uni student or a 34 / 44 year-old (sometimes acting just like a 14-year-old, but often not - still will gladly "rebalance" you though :) ).
Welcome.

There are no paranoid people in EvE.

LOL, Turns out I am not paranoid enough.

Got greedy and got scammed for 500m in the last hour. DOH!

interesting market mechanic used that I was not aware of. Turns out that you can modify an order very quickly. Tired, greedy and stupid. DOH! Much head to keyboard interface.

I only paid over 30000% over market rate for something, tum te tm Roll

I am now not allowed to buy stuff whilst knackered. Bugger.

Cue "wow, you're dumb" posts.

I sent a nice mail saying I hoped they spent it on something nice and not just plex whoring :)

Hard but useful lesson.

Actually before I started playing EVE i heard about the scams that are popular here. I even had the scammer "manual" in a form of html page, where he described how to trick people into giving scammer a lot of money. Seeing how long the scams are here, I think they are succesfull, and are to stay, as claimed by scammer that wrote "manual".

Someone donated ten mill, that covered the brokers fee for the sell order so thanks. This wasn't an isk begging post but I'm into eve enough now to take that with thanks.

One less bruise on my backside from kicking myself lol

Our poor corp JF services are going to be backed up for a bit as I go into market overdrive trying to recoup this :)

ETA: nope, all shipping in progress, 90km3 just gulped down, how big are JF again? :)
