Hey, I've been trying to track down the origin of Fedos. I searched the forums and Google a few times and I can see history and lore but no real origins; it looks like they were a gift from CCP at some point and there seems to be a limited supply of them. But I haven't actually seen anyone confirm this. Thanks in advance for any info.

It was in one of the random Christmas/New Year gift packs AFAIR. The one with the Yule Lads.

Fedos will sometimes also drop from structures in NPC missions if you blow them up.

The true origins of the fedo have become difficult to ascertain, the truth mixed with myth, rumour and legend. Some say they appeared on a starry winter's night many years ago, others say that they have always been among us, hiding in the shadows of our buildings. But a select few whisper of a darker and more disturbing origin.

The fedos, they say, are a punishment. The same capsulers who foolishly carry the fedos aboard their vessels have turned away from the old rules of morality, they prey on the weak and helpless, all while being watched from on-high. The fedos are not a gift, they are a lump of vengeance, waiting to strike.

im pretty sure it is genetically related to Spoo.

So to summarize the chronicle linked before, They are a native species of one of the eve planets. There is a considerable amount of native species and life on these planets actually referenced in lore.

Long Limbs are another famous one.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

There's an issue of the now discontinued E-ON magazine that had a lore story about a fedo causing trouble on a stargate. A drunken Caldari guy gets killed and partially eaten.

Sounds like a decent night out tbh.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

ISD and Fedos are connected... have been for a very, very long time... I've just finished upgrading my Fedo Farm.

Hope no one finds it.

Speaking of Christmas, will the Yule lads be adorning us with 12 days of entertaining gifts again? Was totally worth it just for the Fedos...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Apparently, some people already did.....

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

At first I was afraid this was a lore question. Visions of lumps of putty in Vogons' armpits swam through my head.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

Remember kids, a fedo is not just for Christmas

If you slice it really thin, it will last until Easter

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships
