Eve corrupt after 4/11 patch

Any ideas? Repair didn't work, launching through launcher/bin has same results.

what do you mean "repair didn't work"

did you run the repair by simply double-clicking on it? if so, do it again but this time right clic on it and "Run as Administrator"

as a rule, nothing in program files can be modified without you launching something as administrator


also in the same folder there is a "RESCACHE.EXE" application, you may want to run it also, as administrator of course

Did all that, still doesn't work
Deleted the CCP folder from C:\Program Files (x86) and reinstalled. Still same error message

2nd post he launched the "exefile as administrator"

if this works this means you have some NTFS issue on you folder "Program Files(x86)"

I would suggest you look for some post on how to reset the rights in the eve folder (if you know how : take ownership of the Eve folder in program files)


Alternatively, here is my version from my computer for your corrupted file : https://file.io/R0lKbd

you can grab it and compare the CRC with your file, if the CRC are identical then it's not a corruption issue, it's the rights issue.

did you upgrade you windows version recently?


edit : link to "how to take ownership" : be wary and respect exactly what this says. there is a section for vista/7 and a section for win8/8.1/10
(do not do this on everything on your computer, only the EVE folder in c:\Program Files(x86)\ )

Followed instructions so now for the C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP folder, owner is listed as my username, with full access. No joy. I played around with the inheritance of Ownership (my god, why is it so complicated under Windows?!) - but no luck.

I didn't compare the CRC, but I did delete the file and had the installer download a new one. No joy.

I didn't reinstall anything. The game was running fine last night , then today the launcher downloaded the update and wouldn't run afterwards.
