Hello guys,

I am new to this indy and I wanted to do invention. So I received a component and gathered the materials.
I got all my skills that's not a problem.
So I looked up at a npc station and I found 1 system with invention inside.
So i used the component but the start button shows red and it says "the selected blueprint activity is not supported at the current facility" even tho the facilities tab in industry shows it does.

as you can see i am the correct facility, all skills are blue and I got isk in my wallet for the cost.

Can you guys please have a look at it, am I missing something ?

Thanks

It's because you're trying to do reverse engineering, rather than invention.

That activity can only be done in POS.

Or found your own, and put something up.

You can do invention in stations, just not T3 stuff

Or Caldari outpost.

No need to join one.

Create your own corp and wait it out for 7 days then anchor your own POS

It's a nullsec player owned 'station'. People just generally don't lump them in with POS (I left it out, because A: I couldn't remember which one it was, and B: it wasn't hugely useful to you to mention)

Sorry, posted before my bus stop and didn't include more. It's a player corporation controlled station in null sec, which you need access to use. It's probably outside of your options but I was just correcting the record in case someone else searched this topic as its not widely known (you can build T3 items in an Amarr outpost).

As far as setting up a pos, it can be expensive to do but interesting to do for the first time. Plenty of resources on them on the forums and elsewhere but you need an experimental lab to do T3 invention and to build the items you need the correct array to build them; it can be quite complicated.

Here's a good page on the process: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Tech_3_Production

CCP tried to simplify things by calling anything that creates an improved BPC "invention", and unifying the chance formula.

However, they didn't change the facilities requirement Roll

Another option is you could go to Providence and use an outpost out that way... I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure there are some caldari and amarr outposts, and anyone can dock at them assuming you aren't red to them.

But yeah, your best bet is to just make your own corporation and set up a pos on your own. It's not terribly difficult P

No need to wait 7 days anymore. Since standings are no longer required to anchor a control tower in empire space, you can anchor the tower right after creating the corp (correct me if I'm wrong).

A small tower with an experimental lab is all you need for T3 invention. Add a component array and a subsystem array and you can even manufacture everything T3 (for T3 destroyers, use an advanced small ship assembly instead).

Standings are gone, but there's a 7 day cooldown before a new corp can anchor a tower.
