They always had their place in small to med gangs and those has just diminished.

They are designed to excel in a pre-thought format and succeed in that. And they very well dooo! But some are, because of that, insta primaried of the field (falcon and rook).


I believe it is a multi sided problem. Were now in a era of frigs and destroyers again due ISK/Effort/Efficiency/Fun ratio. Ppl rather fly trowaway ships than 300-400m well fitted recons that would get blobbed anyway. It has also something to do with the scaling of EVE ect, and thus the problem lies somewhere else than at the ships themselves.


Small gang formats used to look like this:

Sabre X2
Falcon
Rapier
Maybe Curse
3-4 vaga's cynabals

What we need is for people to stop bitchn that EvE is dying and shut and just play the game. If you dislike your experience that much then stop paying and leave. I hate people that whine, their mentality is half or the problem I think.

I hate people who are bigotted against whiners and will go off topic to attack them.

The D-scan immunity isn't just for arriving on grid...Imagine you pull up to a plex gate and see one or two cruisers in there, and think you can take them on, only to arrive on grid and see there is half a dozen Lachesis there not only able to point/scram you from insane range, but also sensor damp you effectively. A Huginn is probably the best counter to a Svipul in the current meta.

I think they might benefit from a slightly increased tank, given they have to sacrifice tank for EWAR modules, but they are still far more popular than the force recons.
