Parallax has been successfully deployed on November 3 during a slightly longer downtime.

Parallax delivers the much anticipated "Brain in a Box" performance improvement, as well as further fine tuning on sovereignty, jump fatigue reductions, a new opt-in probe scanning map, new ship skins and many more small changes.

The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the Parallax patch notes.

For general discussion and to report issues with the Vanguard release on the Mac, please use this thread.

Please report issues with the release on the PC in the Parallax issues thread.
General feedback regarding Vanguard on the PC is welcome in the general feedback thread.

It's called "CCP doesn't have any viable non-Win development expirience" or "C#/ASP.NET/C++/DirectX/Python all the things" without proper testing and quality assurance. Thus don't bother yourself - install windows, or tell CCP how irresponcible they are, which in general means "CCP just don't give a shi t about your non-WIN EvE expirience 'cause of historic reasons and retardness".

What a telling way to put that. PC users get to report problems. OSX users go to an easy to ignore general forum and are not invited to report problems. Also I note not a single bug fix at all for OSX was mentioned in the patch notes. Very telling indeed.

I am running on Mac OS/X 10.11.1 (El Capitan) and this new release is not working in windowed mode on my external (DELL 2709W) monitor.

It has a band at the top of the window that is a scrambled mix of the windows behind it, and mouse positioning is off by the width of that band -- I have to position the mouse that far above the button I want to click on.

fullscreen is working fine.

I have also found that if I have the laptop open, the window launches fine - it is when the laptop is closed and I am working on only the external monitor that it messes up.

However, if I launch it and it messes up, then I open the laptop - it corrects itself (prior to crashing) ... crash dump incoming (I think - it asked for permission to take over the process to do the dump report - but then it just disappeared).

This problem is usually fixed by changing your screen resolution in the system settings to something and then back to whatever it was before. I found this also resolved issues with the placement of window-mode which sometimes goes out of screen and is hard to grab.

beta launcher also works fine for me. fwiw I'm playing on a few diff i5 and i7 machines.

thanks!

Places the game window off the top of the screen, same in full screen. Unplayable.
Works in virtualisation of a Windows machine in OS-X. Sad, sad story.
CCP, you really need to sort out a native client, this is ridiculous.

New Glitches with Parallax(updated 4-Nov)
Finding all sorts of anomalies all over the place - have to assume this is somehow related to Brain-in-a-Box. The bugs with the skill queue seem to have been addressed with the latest update.

• Problems jumping through jump gates; the command to jump is randomly not accepted (and needs to be repeated). Seeing a lot of "you will be cleared to land in xx seconds" even though there's no TiDi and low player counts in-system. Went through one gate backwards (jump command actually sent my ship full speed in reverse and then jumped me).
• Problems opening cargo containers; you occasionally have to open them twice, and when they finally open they initially appear blank with the contents materializing several seconds later.
• Problems viewing inventory while in-ship; the contents occasionally disappear.

• Longer delay when launching (I get a black window for 5-10 seconds before the Character Selection Screen loads). There is also a a black window and noticeable delay after selecting a character (neither were present in Vanguard).
• Opening the Skill Training Queue through the Character Sheet is now glitched. When you click on it the window doesn't appear immediately; instead you get an icon in the Neocon bar with a black arrow pointing towards it. You can either wait 10 seconds or so for the Training Queue window to appear or click on the Neocon icon to get it right away. I'm going on the assumption this is somehow related to the implementation of Brain-in-a-Box...
• Ran into an issue where I engaged a weapon system on an NPC and nothing happened for about 5 seconds - then it started cycling normally. The screen wasn't frozen - I was still being shot at and taking damage. Addendum: This is occurring so frequently that you can expect it at least 3-4 times per room in any NPC mission. I can only imagine the impact this is having on PvP gameplay...
• To frightened to test the new Beta launcher... Addendum: Overcame my fear and tried the beta launcher. It worked but reset all my settings, so I'll stick with the tried and true.

Improvements with Parallax
• No graphical anomalies (yet) when viewing ships or SKINs through the Ship Fitting or Preview windows (ships were previously translucent and occasionally displayed random anomalies when previewing SKINs).
Severe delay/lag when opening Standings is now fixed; instantaneous!
The return of the Jukebox is awsome!!

Bugs Still Present in Parallax
• Severe lag when opening anything. Examples include: Market, Contracts, Module Info (although it's not as bad as in Vanguard).
• Missing gate cloak under Medium shader setting. Missing High Shader and Anti-Aliasing settings.

Parallax Questions
• What's the Offset Interface With Camera option? Is this the camera bob or something else?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

This weapons activation glitch is not a isolated incident and I've been able to easily reproduce it several times now. It appears as though there's a delay between activating a weapon (I'm using a hotkey) and when it actually fires and you see it start to cycle. Sometimes this happens right away (normal). Other times, there's a several second delay which results in several volleys being fired at once (I'm using missiles so it provides an interesting visual of twice the number of missiles normally launched).

In the probe scanner window with the green lines, when I move the column widths and scroll up and down a long list of anoms, the columns don't show in their new positions properly

1. Sometimes I have troubles grabbing the arrows in the map when probe scanning. There seems to be only a very tiny area when they become red, so that they can be grabbed. Closing the map and restarting the scan process helps.

2. It would be nice if the enter key also started a scan when the focus is on the map rather than on the scan window. When adjusting probes, the focus is on the map and I need to highlight the scan window first. But then I can just as easily click directly on the scan button.

Suggestion #1: Bring back manual km distance input for d-scan.

I notice you removed the ability to input manual d-scan distances under 0.1 AU. If you are in a complex that is very close to a station, asteroid belt, gate or any area where people may congregate it allows you to narrow your range to exclude pilots outside of your immediate vicinity.

This feature is also nice to have if you ever find yourself searching for objects using d-scan. I left my mobile depot in a complex a few days ago. I only had the entrance bookmarked. I was able to scan its general direction to 5 degrees and use my MWD to collect it. A few times toward the end I had to readjust my position due to the narrowness of the cone (it would fall out of the cone's scan range as the cone got narrower and narrower), but I was able to see exactly how far away it was, adjust course and monitor my progress. Also, assuming that different jumpgates throw you a wide variety of distances it is nice to be able to know that the object is X km away. I'd hate to blindly ahead toward something that was 0.09 AU away and waste my time even trying.

EDIT: Seems this was addressed. Now the AU indicator is a button that when pushed toggles between AU and km.

Suggestion #2: Allow for d-scan sphere/cone to be toggled on/off.

The ability to toggle the D-scan sphere/cone on and off so that it does not appear in the probe scanning map. Or at the least, change its color from red to blue. When set to 360 degrees it can be confused with a cosmic signature. In certain situations, if I don't always set my d-scan to the lowest range setting it gets in the way of pointing out signatures. But then, depending on the size of the system, at the lowest range setting it looks like a signature. Unnecessary confusion.

Suggestion #3: Return the checkbox for Anamolies in the scan window.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but hiting keys 1-5 don't toggle anything. So instead of a clikc of a button I have to open the drop down menu. This is not major by any means, but it is something I'd like to see addressed nonetheless.

Thank you for the hard work CCP - looks great for the most part, but I have to echo in many of the bugs and issues.
The delays in start up and UI window may be out of you hands though.

CCP Sledgehammer said he was testing a new Cider build, any chance we will be allowed to work with it in Sisi soon(er) than later. See if we can help narrow down some bugs before hand. With the new launcher, it makes it easy for to get in the test server / but I feel we also need a long term set of things to test while we are on there.
Most of the issues probably come from the lack of testing.

When scaning in wormholes, I sometimes get an major issue where I can't move my probes.
The cause seems to be that the probes aren't registering when my mouse hovers over their control box (either the box itself, or the big arrows coming out of it).

When it happens, if I move my mouse around enough I can occasionally find the odd pixel that will trigger the box/arrow to turn red and I can move it, assuming I can find that pixel perfect spot again, but this is a major inconvenience, as it means I can't scan in wormholes when it happens, and then I'm stuck in one spot.

Jumping a wormhole seems to fix the problem (until it happens again). Recalling and relaunching probes doesn't seem to fix it.

I am using OSX Yosemite (10.10.5), 2011 iMac which generally runs Eve fine.

Not sure I would know how to separate a Parallax issue from all the others I see since returning after an 8 month break. So many lags, freezes and delays - undocking to a blank screen, freezes when I open new windows, mismatch between screen view and other elements (am I cloaked or not, are my drones in or out.... so much more about lags and events happening before I see them... or not, who knows.) Issued a ticket but never got a reply. And, back on topic, the new probe interface/map is awful. Sorry, but what happened over the 8 months I was away?

Yeah I too am having all the below bugs with gates etc. And just random issues all over the place with the market, skill window, etc. Even after clearing the cache.

Forgot to mention jump gates - lost a Helios thru delay (and also my pod exploded at the same exact same instant as the ship).
