I just found a 1.89 GHz hardware system for $89 (+tax) which I posted in another thread and since I got no reply if it would work, I didn't buy it.

I spent the money on other opportunities I had since they too may have gone away, but at least I had more reliable information about it.

Anyways, it seems it is not all that worth it for me.

eve works on almost anything newish. that said "works" and "playable" are different benchmarks. And 1.89 GHz says almost nothing, on its own it could mean any one of a million things.

I have Eve "running" on an Acer Aspire 1 756 netbook with a Celeron processor. By that I mean I can login, do some industry, manage my skill queue, PI and a few other things - it's handy when I'm on the road but you would need to be a masochist to actually try and "play" the game on that hardware.

You can rat or run missions and mine on any E2 processor from AMD... those laptops can be had for the equivalent of $100 USD on ebay.

I have seen anything from a Pentium D all the way to the new i7's running Eve. Honestly, there isn't much out there that won't.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

I used to play on a desktop with a Xeon processor and GTC 970TI graphics card, but nowadays I usually play on my POS laptop. Works great 2 clients to haul + web in HS or market trading (on minimum settings). Haven't done any combat. A refurbished version of my laptop costs under 300.

Will it run Windows XP? Then it will run EVE.

Of course the developers will hate you for forcing continued support of DirectX 9.

The computer system was $100 tax included.
It is also small, portable, and light.

The video card was $69 , I got it in special at $59. (And it was the last one in store.)

The keyboard and mouse combo was $19.

I also got a 32 GB USB Data Traveler 101 (USB 2.0) for $15 to save more videos.

Double post..
+ I got in the store atfter 8 PM (and they closed at 7:30 PM).
Someone else was buying and caused them 30 minutes delays...
It took me another 25 minutes to get out (they closed late 1 hour).

No internet yet though, and no other free wifi Android device.

I may get a laptop with free wifi and run the video card on it with an external video card adapter.
Then, I'd look for high-speed internet plans that runs on mobile device.

One company I called today doesn't offer DSL where I live but they offer 60 MBps cable modem (except I have to get cable separate).

Another company who overcharged me for a service I never used mentionned they offer 250 MBps.

I am looking for 300 MBps (unless it was an offer for 300 GB per month).

RAM sticks

found at a recycling plant while working there.

I even posted them on eBay for around 10% - to 20% markup over my Paypal and eBay running costs and no one ever bought them.

That was then, this is now, and I can try to install them on my new 2 GB system, although I don't know if it has the slots or capacity for it.

[(My old(er) IBM only had a 1 GB RAM max capacity with its current motherboard and processor but, I think it could only run 796 B RAM due to the double overload special low power, power supply...]

http://www.skhynix.com/en/index.jsp

After verifying the RAM chip, it is listed as Laptop RAM and so won't fit on my Lenovo Desktop PC.
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/desktops/

http://www.kijiji.ca/b-ontario/2rx8-pc2-5300s-555/k0l9004
It is listed as $7 only so it would be easy to upgrade the Desktop PC RAM now.
I think 4 GB is in order.

2 GB is close to the minimum.
(I can't believe how much junk must be running on those systems.
Programs used to run on less than 4 MB...)

I have an MSI GeForce GT-610 2GB VRAM card but the heat sink is too large to fit my small desktop case.
I was offered a larger case, 2nd license, DVD-Recorder (for ROM only medium ), 4 GB RAM for $189 in special ($219 regular).
Offer is valid until next Friday.

However, I was offered a Sapphire Radeon H5450 1 GB card which will fit in my system without requiring an external video card adapter which btw only is designed to connect to a laptop power supply...
That means that the adapter would require another power connector adapter...
(Which I can't find yet, as it's possibly not even done or sold yet.)

The new card is another $50, $57 with taxes.
This http://www.amazon.ca/SAPPHIRE-5450-PCIE-1GB-DDR3/dp/B004N3BH0C
Amazon link
shows the card sideways with no heat sink being wider than the bracket, and so should fit in the connector
without obstruction from the ethernet card connector and the 2 mounted USB connector (protected by a silver metal case).

After buying the Sapphire Radeon H5450 card, it turned out that the case I tried to connect in is a low profile design.
That means that I cannot install the Sapphire Radeon H5450 card which is not a low profile card.
The VGA connector is positioned over the low-profile position which is over the top of the case.
The case would not close.
The VGA connector is also too close to the side of the case to be able to connect the VGA cable.
I will however get a refund for it in the next 14 days, being, tomorrow, unless I am called for work like now.

So, all in all, I will need a new $189 system with a second Windows 7 license which is currently sold at $219 +.
(Taxes not included...)
I don't think that I will pay that amount on next Friday November 6, 2015.
That may mean that I will not be able to run EVE Online before 2016.

Also, I may or may not get the internet at home, which would allow me to do programming ...

After going back to get a refund, the store informed me that the card had LP brackets included in the box.
The 2 brackets that were included were just that, to fit the VGA connector on the side bracket slot to the left of my current PCIe connector bracket slot.

And it worked.
I couldn't do it myself , as I didn't have any pairs of pliers that could unscrew those little VGA (or SVGA) screw in which you stabilize the VGA cable.
So, I didn't test it yet, as I stopped at the nearby library on my way back to where the system is (home) to post this.
I am pretty sure that it is going to work this time.

It will also save me $189 in 2 days, though I will have 2 GB less RAM and 1 GB less VRAM...
Unless I want to dual box and dual client?

Except I was dinged another $790 and I'm overdraft.
That last charged should be reversed again today shortly.

+ I won't be able to get a new internet connection until I get more income from work or other.

I have to go to the bank to fix this for the second time from 2 weeks ago now.
However, due to this second error, I don't expect to get a new internet connection for another month or so...
