Soloing Abandoned High Sec POS's

So I’ve found a couple of unfueled POS’s in high sec with guns, hangers and other items anchored so I was wondering what's the best ship to use to solo kill the tower so I can access the anchored items?

I know Stealth Bombers are good because of high damage but would using an Oracle with T1 crystals be better considering they do not get damaged and as long as you are cap stable; will fire without interruption.
Best I can work out for an Oracle fit is:

With all skills maxed out you get 915 DPS. Stable without using cap rechargers and I figured it wouldn't hurt to just fill the lows with Heat Sink’s seeing as I won't be engaging anyone and +3 DPS per module can't hurt...


Note :: The corporations who own the POS’s have only one man in and they have not been online in ages or are inactive; I’m guessing they have been disbanded so I’ll be able to solo them without seeing any War Targets ruining the party. Yes I know I need to be in a corp first and yes I know it will take a very long time.

Anyway what do you guys think?

I agree with you, oracle is probably your best best bet. No need for replenning ammo and if the ships insured with no implants just go afk.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

I'm curious, do you have to wardec to take down abandoned poses? Or can you shoot them if they're offline

If you take an Abaddon you get about the same raw DPS, but you can fit 3 sentry drones doing an additional 100 dps.

I did indeed but I also found 2 POS's a couple days ago but wasn't quite sure how to go about kicking over their sandcastles.

just don't make the mistake of thinking that just because a POS is "offline" that the corp has abandoned it, do a little research first to see if the corp's members are active so you don't end up deccing them only to warp to the POS to find a system full of WTs and the POS online and shooting at you like one guy did to us one time.

from our side, it was a riot, from his side, he was not a happy camper.

You do know that if the pos is off line - meaning the forcefield is down - you do not have to kill the tower to shoot the hangers and labs. Just shoot the hangers and labs directly and ignore the tower - it doesnt drop anything. Also the hangers and labs pop easy - you can kill them with anything.

Armageddone navy issue is the max contant DPS ship, considering it can lauch full flight of heavy / sentry drones. But you will need more SP to get max out of it.

Polarized talos or oracle, depending on how AFK you intend to be.

Just blap the modules and ignore the tower. Just have a cargo ship nearby to scoop the loot. I used to do this when i had more time to play.

if the tower is off line, does the corp hanger still have a high resistance? Its been a while since i have done a pos bash so i forget
