Hello

So iv'e been playing for a little over a week now. So far, I'm not impressed and am seriously considering not extending my trial. My reasons are below.

1. Starting skills are rubbish, I can still fly very little.
2. I fitted a probe with modules, went exploring, I make VERY little money in any data/relic site.
3. I literally after doing the tutorial still have virtually no idea what I'm doing.
4. Ship/modules cost far to much money. What I make from exploring/level 1,2 missions does not cover getting skills and getting new ships to do things when you die.
5. The NPC corp for me was horrible, asking questions got horrible answers or simply, i was insulted non stop.

There is literally no reason for me to keep playing, I do not make hardly any ISK for my skill level and i cannot afford to upgrade items etc.

CCP, you need to fix your game.

i ll bite

1. In single week you figured it out how many ships are in eve ? no not rly
2. in single week you know what are data/relic sites and you know what is good ISK ?
3. in single week you done all toutorials, no freaking way
4. in single week you figured it out that modules are overpriced, if you done all tutorials you'd have more then enough skills book and ships and modules for lvl1 and lvl2 missions. And again in single week you managed to do all tutorials, did relic and data sites, nabbed into lvl1 and lvl2 missions.
5. simple not true...

Try better next time...

yes it is a curious post

though they do have a point on the starting skills being rather useless at present

Evasive Shadow Assassin, we have gone before you through a tougher and less forgiving start in this game.
You have only yourself to look at in the mirror if you need a reason as to why you are failing and wanting to quit.

1: Ummmm, you are gonna have **** skills in ANY game when you first start out.
2: As stated, get out of high sec.
3: Its called RESEARCH, not, I'm gonna hold your hand through a sandbox.
4: No they don't t1 mods are cheap as dirt even for a new player, and you shouldn't be dying to NPC's, thats just not paying attention or trying on your part.
5: Was there a valid reason to why you were being insulted? I think there was Twisted

6: This game is (Most likely) not for you.

The gameplay is ****, the people play is awesome.

Stop playing the game and start playing the people (with and against).

You'll get Eve pretty quickly after that.

Oh my goodness. Another "I Wasn't An Overnight Success" testimonial! (Won't wonders never cease?) Let me guess, OP comes from "another game" where he was "Billy Bad". Figured he'd roll this phenomenal digital success into a "EVE huh? I'll show these wannabee rubes what a real gamer is" curb stomp. (Since, naturally, EVE is legendary so we must not know what a real gamer is.)

Finds out things are not going to be that EASY, eh? Gonna have to spend some time and effort here, eh?
No "power leveling" like where he came from. No "I got the uber gear in 20 hours" epeen stroking.

SO ....

Redesign your game, CCP.

How many times have we heard this?
Let me count the ways.

I have a better idea, OP. Go back to WoW. They love you there. Cool

There just isn't anything that can be said!

WoW holds your hand all the way through level 70 and makes sure you always get a cookie, no matter what.
EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for even wanting one, in the first place.
And that is what us older players like the most about this game. It's just as unforgiving to us as it is to noobs.

NPC corps are SUPPOSED to be terrible. Half of those characters are alts of older toon, and not all of those alts are nice people. Join a good PvP-focused corp... leave highsec (preferably go to null or w-space)... stop asking for handouts.

CCP doesn't need to "fix" anything. They've changed the noob experience a number of times to draw in new players, and there's nothing fundamentally wrong with this game.
Playing EVE isn't even really about playing EVE. It's about the social aspect. Join frickin Karmafleet or Sardaukar Merc Guild, for crissakes.

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

On a different note, is it just me, or are these kinds of whiny posts turning up more and more often over the last two or so months? It is like there is one incredibly bitter person out there will nothing better than to roll one alt after another to complain on the forums that the game is "too hhhaaardddd!!!!!11!!111" will a solid dose of "but think of the n00bss" to try to sound a little less completely self absorbed?

I wish I could put EvE into paragraph that gives you the personal incentive to stick with it, but that's not going to happen. This is a game of choice. Either you stick with it or you don't. I promise you no one on this forum is going to say something that will start that inner fire or drive to find out what you can really do in this game. Only you will. Statistically your going to rage quit.....Maybe even more than once. Just remember there is nothing like our community or our universe you decide.

Kindly disembark from the game with your whiny and self-entitled 2015 newbie mentality - this is clearly not the game for you, even with the wealth of advantages you have over a new player starting in, oh, I don't know, 2008.

A certain other big-name MMO is incredibly stale and bleeding subs at the moment. Many of these posts sound like the gripes of the long-time players of that game, I think.

Hello

Ty for the positive replies in the thread, i have been reading the links and a corp member saw my post and sent me some ISK so im able to get my next ship.

It would seem there is a lot of "out of eve links" to what EvE provides in terms of "help guides".

To the trolls.

You will get no silly rage or response i.e swearing n such from me. Not worth the time it would take to write a reply.

There's nothing wrong with that. Just like the real world there are players who like to follow and people who like to lead. It's just that for a new player it's sometimes unclear where they should look for good leaders.

Just FYI, a person who disagrees with you is not necessarily a troll. If the ISDs determine that trolling is going on in a thread (actual trolling) then they will come down pretty hard.

The culture of this game is very rough on the outside but very helpful on the inside. People have little patience for whining or ranting about the game from people who have been around a week, but a new player who asks polite questions and who seems engaged and curious will be showered with links and tips and even isk from strangers.

In any case, I'm glad you're getting help. I hope you stick around a while.

Gee, there's no way CCP could have predicted that people would still feel overwhelmed with their lack of skills when starting out no matter how much they increased the starting SP.

Oh wait, I told them. They just didn't listen.

I agree. The more you give the more people expect. Even if you gave people an instant level up to 50mil SP I am sure we would get people who will find another reason to complain.

I think the starting SP and skills are pretty good at the moment, they did a good job in giving new players a good start. I still think that CCP should implement started professions though to give new players a bit of direction at the beginning. There is so much to do in eve it is often overwhelming for a new players as in the case of the OP.

CCP are bringing in a new system whereby you give them lots of real life cash, and they give you the skills to do whatever.
