[NEW PLAYERS] Small change, Big improvement: Armor tanking mods prereq

Anybody that has tried to create newbie-friendly doctrines soon realizes that there is a big disparity in the skillpoints required to fly shield doctrines and armor doctrines.

Specifically, t2 shield hardeners only have level IV skill requirements whereas t2 armor hardeners and armor plates require the training of a skill to V (hull upgrades). Due to the lack of meta 4 equivalent of t2 hardeners, this issue makes it very hard for newer players to get into armor ships for pvp and heavily restrict their choices to shield or hull tank.

PROPOSAL: we wish to suggest that the pre-requiste for armor t2 hardeners be reduced to lvl IV, in line with the shield hardeners pre-requisite

We raised this idea with several newbie corp representatives and many wonderful CCP devs in Las Vegas and it seems everyone agreed this simple change would improve quality of life for newer players quite significantly. Please help us bring this opportunity to the attention of CCP!

or all T2 being specialist equipment should require lv5 skills, the issue is that module tiercide hasn't been completed yet, so the meta variations are inconsistent and very poor in many cases.

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Bringing it inline with shield skills sounds an excellent idea. I'm sure CCP just overlooked this.

there are totally meta 4 requirements... they are called prototypes... Source, have bought meta 4 fits for newbros before...

The bigger thing i'd guess is that you dont need the compenation skills on shield docterines since the invul is active whereass the EANM is a passive module, and thus benefits from the comp skills... Also, people flying shields mean people actually tell newbro to skill for shields over armor...

And another thing that would help new players is during the tutorial don't give them a shield armor and hull tank mod

I think the most common thing I need to correct when helping a new player is getting them to grasp the issues with duel tanking after they were just taught to do that in the tutorial

Training for T2 shield hardeners is a self nerf to passive tanking. Using faction/complex mod only would allow you to train it to I only and let damage bleed to armor while keeping closer to peak regen.

You need to train ALL the shield skills to 5. That way, when you open your shield skills all the dots line up.
