Just need to note. My story (or in this case, prose), is not really entirely fictional. Half of it is embellished but the gist of it is non-fiction. Perhaps a revisit on the category and a follow-up explanation for the decision can be arranged?

Also another note is that the story, in its original form, was written by another for a pulp fiction magazine titled 'Dramatics Fantastics', whose headquarters is situated in Villore. We made some arrangements to get the story into the competition:

1. Increase the amount of embellishment
2. I will rewrite all the segments that involves technical details. Collaborate to make the style consistent.
3. Everything sensitive will be removed
4. The story will be submitted under my name.
5. Assuming that we win, we split the money among each other. Details will be kept between us, an attorney and two other witnesses.

Prose is both fiction and non fiction - stories - true, fiction, and some blend of the two.

I guess the third category is meant for academic subjects, like news articles, encyclopedia entries, scientific studies, philosophical or religious treatises, economic analyses, etc. (this is why Shaddam Daphiti's work was classified in the latter, and Mr. Egivand's in the former).

I hope this addresses both of your concerns. if not, please do not hesitate to contact me directly to discuss.

Thanks for the clarification.

I hereby submit my previously unpublished writing on the Decline and Fall of the Takmahl Empire.

Academic category. For it is a product of my own brilliant research, as Professor of Archaeology at Kaztropolis University.

I have written two stories that are continuations of the recently released holo “Frozen”. One, “Rain of a Child’s Tear”, is linked below in my signature.

Unfortunately, both are longer than 30,000 words. However, the second story is written is such a way that several chapters can be dropped with little loss of story continuity. Thus, I am submitting “Summer of Ice”, chapters 1 through 10, then chapters 19 to the end. Chapters 11 through 18 are not part of my submission, and I recommend you do not even look at them, to be fair to the other entrants.

I’ve included a link to the story below rather than using Eve Forums - Eve Fiction, as dropping 30,000 words there is a bit much.

Summer of Ice

Edit: After making this submission, I received the question: Why would a capsuleer write a fantasy story about a princess and a magic queen? To tell you the truth, I'm not entirely sure why I wrote it! I do know that I really, really liked the original holo. So much so that continuing story lines started running through my mind. Eventually, they became so distracting that I decided I had little choice but to write them all down.

Why was my mind grabbed by this particular holo, rather than the dozens of others I've seen? All I can think of is that Queen Elsa and we capsuleers share one large similarity: We can both control almost unimaginable power with little more than a thought and a wave of the hand. Perhaps this connection was my inspiration.

Then again, maybe the reason is much simpler. Maybe the base-liners are correct; all us capsuleers are insane.
