So i just jumped into OMS with a Stratios and promptly lost it, this is the km, *snip* KM link removed ~ISD Buldath .
A quick search will reveal that these guys have been doing it a lot.

What i find it odd is that nobody has managed to explain what happened from my pov.
I know about the new instalock ( 0.9s ) svipuls and how outrageously OP t3d's are.
I have returned to the game 3 weeks ago and i already have 2 weeks of flying through low-sec in a cov ops and through gatecamps (first time to be caught).

I'm not upset about the loss or the value of the loss, but i don't understand what happened.

On my end, i jumped in on contact, held cloak before hitting gate as usual (cloak reactivation is 15s on Stratios).
I loaded very fast and i saw a lot of drones, i held cloak.
A panther was bombing nearby and i saw t3d's finish off a guy before me ... so far so good, i have gone through gatecamps before.
But my cloak reactivation delay was full bar, very unusual .... and it did not count down. I thought it was a bug, i shifted mods so that it would refresh ... nothing.
It was full bar.
Eventually i decloaked and warped because they were far-ish from me, and in that particular situation .... it was better sooner than later.
I got scrammed and webbed at range by both t3d's (so boosted), in 2s, so it was not a case of instalock (both had scram and webb).
Panther came close and they took their sweet time to kill me to let him get my pod (which got out ok).
They tried to get my pod on station with a svipul but i warped ok and docked.

And after this the log is of both damage (the panther has imp navy large emp smartbombs), and me spamming warp to get the pod out when the ship died (not tht expensive but why take that loss too).

The part that i cannot understand is why the cov ops cloak did not count down under gatecloak as it usually does.
Is there a new tactic involved, is it about proximity to drones/wrecks/corpses or is it about the AOE of smartbombs ?

This. It is pretty pretty common for modules to not update their status correctly however this is normally just a display bug and the module itself should still function as normal. Logs are pretty cut and dry and I cant see any reason why you would not get your ship replaced via petition.

Are you certain that you didnt do a quick double tap?

That said, i usually load gates really fast, and in almost all cases the cloak on a t3 is pmuch ready to go on the other side. Occasionally, that is not the case and when trying to hit cloak i get the reactivation warning only to see the button cycle indicator look to be just starting, like it ignored all the time between jumping the gate in the previous system and me starting to warp off in the new one. =

Either way, its best if you jump into a camp to hold for a second, make sure that nothing is going to prevent you from cloaking or if so hope that its moving and gets out of the way. This should let anything that needs to, cool down.

Assuming the log wasn't doctored, no, you're wrong.

That would produce the message:

Interference from the cloaking you are doing is preventing your systems from functioning at this time.

it's a visual bug, you have the cooldown bar on the cloak full but you can still cloak, happened quite a bit of times to me as well. Biggest issue is that the green hue of the activation is hard to see with the colldown thingie there

100% sure it's a visual bug. Happened to me again just last night on my explo alt, jumped into a wh, delay still full, waited 15 secs to be sure, warped and cloaked no problem

A visual bug would not create the log he posted (though a double tap could, I suppose).
