Ascension Cathedral, Safizon II - Moon 1 - Amarr Navy Assembly Plant.

For the service, a table with towels and a pair of golden outer robes has been placed by the pool of sacred water. Various persons of the faith and those close to the converts file quietly inside, taking their seats, giving greetings and speaking softly prior to the service.

Alizebeth Amalath appears in the back, wearing her vestments. She waits patiently. She is joined by Seraphim Risen and Utari Onzo, who both wear plain white robes. Ayallah stands with them, holding a taper in her hand, in black robes with a hijab. She goes to the front to the altar and lights the two candles placed there, before bowing and standing off to the side.

Alizebeth hants in her best priestess voice "I give to you the destiny of Faith, And you will bring its message to every planet of every star in the heavens Go forth, conquer in my Name, and reclaim that which I have given."

She walks to the front, crozier in hand and stops, just before the altar and kneels down before prostrating. Utari and Seraphim follow her and copy the prostration. They stay in this position for a few moments as the cathedral falls silent. Alizebeth stands and makes her way to the altar while Utari and Seraphim rise up to kneel in place. The Holy Mother leans down to venerate the altar with a kiss and then looks up to the image of Jamyl in the stained glass. She then turns and faces the congregation, raising her arm in an arc, the sign of God Above All as a blessing to the faithful.

“Peace be with you all.” she says and the congregation responds. “Brothers and sisters, let us call to mind our sins and repent to prepare ourselves for this worship. Bow your heads and silently confess to the Most High God.”

The Holy mother waits a few moments and chants, “kyrie eleison.” After she extends her arm to the congregation, they respond in kind, entreating the Lord for mercy.

“Have mercy on us, God of All, maker of the heavens and all the planets, the stars and moons, Lord of all things visible and invisible, we, your chosen and reclaimed come to you with joyful hearts to initiate Utari Onzo and Serah Risen into the faith. Amen"

Alizebeth smiles to everyone, looking out on the assembled.

"This is actually the first time that I am doing a public service for capsuleers that could be considered a happy service. And what a joyful time this is. We have four new converts actually, two of them will be initiated this service, two more later this week. In my time with them I have seen their struggle to submit to God, the same struggle that we all have and their strong desire to do His will.

"So, I am very happy to have this privilege. The verse that I usually preach on for this service, I am actually going to simply read today and preach on something else. It's a verse that everyone probably knows by heart, I know I do.

"All things were created by the Divine, and so the glory of our faith is inherent to us all; when thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship; when thine actions are in Light's name, thou art immortal. The Scriptures, Book of Trials"

Alizebethgrins wide to the congregation. "I'm sure you can see why I like that one, the sermon practically writes itself." There are a few chuckles and smiles from the congregation.

"Instead, I want to leave you with a saying from our," Alizebeth continues, before taking a short breath, "late Empress. 'Those who step into the light shall be redeemed, the sins of their past cleansed, so that they may know salvation.'

"True Amarr have a reputation for superciliousness. So much so that it's in the official CONCORD description of True Amarr, but my brothers and sisters, I am here to tell you that it is our faith and our works that matter most. After today, you will not be Caldari, nor you will not be Minmatar, you will be Amarr."

Alizebeth turns to regard the two converts kneeling before the altar. They both make a tiny nod. Then she continues her homily

"The Empress preached a message of hope. Our faith is a message of hope and the promise of eternal life and salvation. And we want to bring this message to everyone. Do not hate those not of the faith, pity them. Even the heretic. Yes, even the heretic. Hate their acts. Hate their vileness. Those that seek to bring harm to Holy Amarr must be faced with strength and determination, but pity their misguided ways, that they will not know the joy you do. All the wayward children we must save. That is what she wanted and that is what we must do."

The Holy Mother lets these words hang in the air for a few moments before blinking a tear from her eyes. "Which brings me to you two. It is written that no man may ascend to Paradise unless he has bathed in the Sacred Waters. Today, you both will do so. "Have either of you been baptized already?"

Both Utari and Seraphim answer nearly together “No.”

Alizebeth asks them, "Do you belive in God and the Holy Amarr Empire? If so, say I do."

Utari says firmly. "I do."

Seraphim responds “I do”.

Alizebeth then asks, "Do you believe that the True Amarr are the chosen to lead all men to salvation?"

Utari answers, “I do.”

Seraphim says, “I do.”

Alizebeth asks, "Do you reject sin and vice and all of the evils that it entails?"

Utari replies, “I do.”

Seraphim responds, “I do.”

Alizebeth continues her interrogatory, "You have asked to be bathed in sacred waters of our Faith. Will you accept all the responsibility of being faithful, a subject of the Empire, keeping God's commandments and living a life of virtue? If so, say I will."

Seraphim Risen answers, “I will”.

Utari Onzo says, “I will”.

Alizebeth then turns to the congregation "Will you, brothers and sisters in faith and service to God, support these converts with your prayer, fellowship, and example? Will you do all you can to strengthen their faith and guide them?"
The assembled faithful answer together, “We will.”

Alizebeth smiles wide, full of joy. "Utari, please rise."

Utari rises and follows Alizebeth in the pool of sacred water. The raised dais allows for the pool to be around waist deep for them both.

Alizebeth speaks softly "Okay, so I am going to say a few words and then you're going to bend at the waist with my help and submerge completely, okay. Just for a second, no need to hold your breath for too long."

She waits as Utari nods his understanding before continuing.

"Utari Onzo, the water is your acceptance of God and His acceptance of you. It is a symbol of the forgiveness of your sins, to wash them away. May the Almighty God bless you." Alizebeth says and gives Utari a slight nod before submerging him as he bends at the waist to be completely submerged in the Sacred Water. Once he is so covered, Alizebeth assists him in standing.

Then, the Holy Mother draws the Arc of God Above All on Utari's forehead with her thumb, saying, "Be cleansed, by God's Grace. Today you are reborn."

Utari Onzo seems to be struggling to decide whether to have a serious, thoughtful face, or a smiling, joyous face as he closes his eyes for a moment.

Alizebeth says softly to him, "smile. Definitely smile. Also, By His Light . . ."

Utari’s face breaks into a smile. "By His Light, By His Will," he says.

Alizebeth smiles back to Utari. "Ayallah will have a towel for you and an over robe to put on,” she says before looking over to Seraphim. “Serah. Please rise and join me."

Utari exits the pool, water dripping down his robe as Ayallah meets him with a towel, helping him to dry off as best as possible. Seraphim makes her way over and up the steps before descending into the pool to join Alizabeth there. Once Utari is mostly dry, Ayallah puts the golden mantle on Utari’s shoulders.

Alizebeth smiles to Serah. "Okay, same thing, okay? Just a dip. Make sure you are completely submerged."

Seraphim nods and readies herself.

"Serah Risen, the water is your acceptance of God and His acceptance of you. It is a symbol of the forgiveness of your sins, to wash them away. May the Almighty God bless you," Alizebeth says and gives Serah a slight nod before submerging her. Once Seraphim is completely submerged into the Sacred Water, Alizebeth helps her back to stand.

Then, Alizebeth draws the arc of God Above All on Serah's forehead saying. "Be cleansed, by God's Grace. Today you are reborn."

Serah is grinning when she comes back up and it only gets wider. "By His light, By His Will," she responds.

"Ayallah will have a towel and an over robe for you," says Alizebeth, gesturing to Ayallah, who is standing ready.

Much like Utari before her, Seraphim exits the pool to get the towel from Ayallah and dries off as best as possible. Again, Ayallah gets the golden outer robe and places it on Seraphim’s shoulders. Alizebeth steps out of the water and it drips from the hem of her vestments, too.

"Beloved,” she says to the congregation, “I formally present to you the newest members of God's faith, Serah and Utari. Please take a moment after the service to say a few words to each of them. And now, please bow your head for the benediction."

The congregation bow their heads; likewise so do Serah, Utari, and Ayallah, standing in the front.

"May the Almighty God bless you and keep you, and make His Light shine upon you in all the dark places you must walk. May Her Majesty keep watch upon you from her perch in Paradise. By His Light, By His Will."

Music begins to play as Alizebeth goes back to the altar, kissing it and retrieving her crozier. She kneels before it as Seraphim and Utari join her. Ayallah lights her taper, leaving the candles burning as the trio stands and then the four recess to the back of the cathedral.

Alizebeth stops by the door, waiting for the music to finish before addressing the congregation, “Go forth, the mass has ended. Thanks be to God.”

Thank you Holy Mother for your lessons, patience and guidance. And thank you also for conducting such a moving ceremony. I swear to always uphold the values and conduct expected of a member of your flock. God Bless you.
