Finding a buyer for this amount of ISK was WIN?

http://dl.eve-files.com/media/1510/plex.png

What exactly happend with recent PLEX prices?

This is not a rant topic btw, I like them so high up since I'm actually employed and can afford some legal RMT, but out of curiosity.

It seems like there is much more demand as there is supply, meaning there is alot of ISK in game.

Is this because there are no large wars active and ppl can throw ISK in subs rather then in new ships?

AFAIK bots were mostly banned, so that is not a problem..

Same question stands for pirate ships. Seeing vindi going around 400mil but was 1.5bil when I was young player.. Did CCP change loot tables or what?

In terms of pirate BS being cheaper thats due to people farming guristas, angel, serpentis creating a larger supply than demand. Rattlesnakes are so cheap due to goons farming the hell out of their space. Same applies to mach, nightmare, vindi etc for the respective alliances/groups farming the sites/DED.

So, no wars means ppl are simply farming everything?

I seem to remember PLEX being around 300mil back in '09 - '10.

Am I crazy, or is that accurate?

EDIT: Maybe that was the price of an Orca

Yeah, it was, thats why I said that its a win to find somebody willing to pay over 600mil for 60days GTC, which is 2*30days PLEX nowadays..

and it all starts over again...

a:"plex is so freaking high, I have to grind isk all day", b: "get a real job"
a:"no im going to quit, because you are soo mean to me" b:"bye, can I have your stuff"
c:"but why are plex prices so high right now? " d:"because we have a lot of isk sources and no isk sinks in the game, so we have inflation" e: "its also a currency problem and less people selling plex, because they already get so much isk out of one plex"

....you know the game

That's accurate. I started in 2010 and PLEX was around 350 million. Not in a million years would I have thought it would end up at 1.2 billion.

Came expecting a "good ol days" thread about no skill queues, autopilot to zero, CCP employees with Jove toons, and Yulai as the central trade hub....

The game is riddled with market bots. Management wants US to catch them, apparently. Some bots are being run from suspicious precincts, though. SO. Maybe they've cut down the mining bots, just remember there's a huge HOWEVER on this subject.

PLEX prices rose mainly 'cause people selling them saw people would still pay those prices. As I've said, boycott them and they'll bring the prices down. No in-game mechanic drives this, i.e., it's not due to inflation. Of course, nobody's going to boycott them, which is why they charge so much - with impunity. They musta been right.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

PLEX was 330M when I started playing, beginning of 2010.

When I started playing in the late 1880s, there was no PLEX. We had to drive to Iceland every month and sacrifice a baby at the EvE monument to get to play for another month. This was a little difficult because cars had just been invented, and they couldn't drive on water yet, so you basically had to get out and push when you got to the big watery thing. Ocean. Whatever you kids call it.

The second thing that was a challenge was getting laid enough to keep a steady supply of babies. One per month took a lot of effort, and admitting that you played EvE back then was just as much of a **** block as it is now.

What you whippersnappers don't realize is that PLEX was a massive humanitarian effort on the part of CCP. They single-handedly lowered infant mortality rates around the world from awful to less awful when they started accepting PLEX in lieu of babies.

But all good things have unintended consequences. And here we are letting all these kids stay alive, and what happened? They are all the whiney little brat-bastards constantly trying to get this game dumbed down.

Basically, EvE's biggest problem is babies. If we just get rid of the babies, the game will be fine.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

I dunno - it's just one of those things - like the trade hubs, which exist because back in the day they happened to offer the best mission running agents, and now appear to be feature set in stone - indeed back in the day no one with any sense went to jita - unless they wished to be ganked and podded in the lag - the solution was to fix the hardware problem - but not the hard wired issues created by it

personally I think the solution is to set concord to operate like any other faction - which will drive out the hi-sec gankers and create fluidity in the market - based on actual game play

which in turn will create new incentives and drive down the price

but of course the contrary argument is the reason why there are more police in mayfair than peckham

I remember when CCP used to be an honorable company, worthy of its players loyalty... the good 'ol days.

Hating is free, that's why poor people do it the best.
