Besieged

Darkness marches deeper into day,
Foes carving from within and from without.
Cloaked, I watch with dark, intense dismay.

Huola howls as ships struggle away,
Battered, beaten, broken enemies rout.

God and Scripture call upon us to pray,
Yet shadows lengthen, born of faithless doubt;
Cloaked, I watch with dark, intense dismay.

Raiders emerge with trophies to display,
The remains and blood of our most devout.
Darkness marches deeper into day.

Drifters stalk our lands, itching to betray,
Our Empress fallen, still they run about.
Cloaked, I watch with dark, intense dismay.

Empire besieged is what I now survey,
Fear not, faith will be our shield, our redoubt.
