This is more of a technical question than anything, for anyone who is qualified to answer.

I notice a lot of these new features cut down on the number of clicks. I was wondering if this also helped TQ at all, since the number of commands sent to the server has been reduced.

Just curious. This stuff fascinates me for some reason.

Meh. It's a tool for moving around High Sec a bit more conveniently, in a sense. If there's no reason to suicide gank you then it's a way to AFK-dock. If you AFK autopilot valuable cargo it gives gankers one last chance to hit you as you AP 15km into the station's dock range though. It's really just a very minor convenience. Nobody who worries about getting ganked in High is going to autopilot all the way to the station anyway*

Well these "savings" like people spamming less jump key on gate are minor issue what comes to server load. Some dev (Torfi I believe) gave good example while ago about fleet warp initiation spiking the server, but that not being any issue as it is short term action which doesn't repeat itself very long.

Now people manually whacking some key to jump, even as big fleet... That is not going to lagfest the server.

I doubt it would make any diffrence as the commands still need to be sent to server ie, warp to 0,then dock/jump, it's just achieved in one click of the mouse now.

Actually, that depends on the implementation. If its a clientside kludge fix, then your right. However, they may have included it in the serverside code as a single command, in which case it would reduce both BW and CPU usage.

That being said, the amount of overhead we are talking about is miniscule, given that the command should not take more than 1 packet to issue, and 2-3 cpu cycles to process.

Inappropriate signature removed, CCP Phantom.

Fleet warp only spikes the server because it has to work out what speed the fleet should warp at.Other than that it's pretty much the same as individuals warping at the same time.
