Just reported from the EVE Vegas Fanfest.

How would you like a busy, vibrant, and realistic Eve where NPCs and players interact in a logical way that fits in with the lore of New Eden? How would you like to fly Drifter battleship or capital craft? CCP Affinity led a small but passionate group of players in a roundtable discussion on Sunday, which focused on one of the most notorious parts of Eve Online: the Player versus Environment experience. After requesting that no recordings of the discussion be made, players in attendance were treated to a sneak peek at what CCP would like to do with one of the largest aspects of the game, and how this is going to make not just changes to PvE, but the entirety of how you interact with the game.

I've always thought it would be cool if (hear me out on this) NPCs were eventually coded to be almost indistinguishable from players, with EWAR affecting them normally, and needing to be pointed or they would escape, etc., eliminating the difference between PVE and PVP fittings. Missions, sites and other PVE would procedurally escalate based on how many players were present in the area, with random chance at unique spawns. Also the idea of roaming and dangerous groups of NPCs would fit into this perfectly.

Before any dynamic missions they need to make NPC's created dynamically.
As long as players can read exact NPC stats off a site, it's still going to feel stale.
NPC's need to just become 'Sansha Battleship' 'Nightmare' with no idea about what they are fitted with, and then have a bunch of sensible fits they build together in a kitset fashion 'Take 1 piece guns, add one piece utility high slots, take one tank option, fill remaining slots'

the planned changes will only benefit the game after all the bulk of the game play is actually pve even the career missions all are pve missions . so with the planned changes I look forward to more to do .

So bountys and deadspace / faction loot and mission LP is not enough incentive to log in ?

Do we realy need Daily Quests in EvE ? And what would they offer ? More ISK ? LP ? Deadspace loot ?
Is that going to bring people online if the original reward for doing the things you can do in EvE is not enough ?

The obvious answer is no. If people don't like PVE now, a few more isk ain't going to make any difference.

EvE is so packed full of rewards it's not funny, I've personally witnessed a guy (doing high sec incursions) go from flying my loaned Maelstrom and zero isk to a deadspace fit Machariel in 3 days. You can litterally do DED 10/10s in MJD fit Battlecrusiers in null, you can bank serious wealth using nothing but frig sized ship in Faction Warfare and with a frig heavy set up doing burner missions in high, low and npc null.

Let me say it again, FRIGS and BATTLECRUSIERS. The barrier to earning wealth in EVE is lower than ever in EVE and CCP i still making yet more frig sized money making ships like that new Ice Miner. And yet somehow someone at CCP thinks the game needs a system that will stuff yet more wealth into the pockets of people who already have too much.

If anything, CCP should be nerfing rewards to make them worthwhile and to make the in game currency worthwhile again. Last night I pulled 800mil worth of loot out of a single Angel 10/10. 800mil is nice but it ain't 2011 nice lol. Isk is fast starting to resemble this real life currency lol/

It seems that one of my desires for the game has come true: in the future, the Drifters could become a race with playable ships. Big smile

Now to eagerly await the day when that will come. They are even being given a full line-up of ships that includes Capitals, so perhaps a Drifter Titan isn't just a dream either.

The only part of the NPC versus player interaction that will not see the Tribute system are COSMOS sites and Landmarks, because according to CCP Affinity, nobody runs those anyway.

I wonder, why? /s
Maybe because we can run COSMOS only once per character, loot was nerfed to oblivion, rewards are mediocre and no one bothered to fix this? Evil

Was a second thread on the subject really needed? First thread.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Oh and standings don't really matter anymore either!
