Why is this a rank V skill when all the other drone support skills are much much lower. Would love to train to V to finish up that skill set however 24 days just for +5% more drone HP seems a little heavy of a price.

Drone Interfacing and Racial drone specialization are also Rank 5. All give a useful bonus but it's up to you to decide if the extra hitpoints and dps are worth it. For a ship like the Gila, I think you'll get a reasonable return on the investment.

It is reasonable enough if you fly drone boats or Carriers and SC. Fighter and FB get a huge boost of HP by 5th lvl durability.

I do remember something changing about what affects them rather it be skills or modules recently however the skill drone durability has been rank 5 for as long as I can remember. At least since 09 when I started cause I remember wondering the same thing about it back then. I can see why it would be rank V considering FBs have ehp of an assault frigate and that's before skills or modules are applied.
