Open select profile, change profile, click start, it goes through the motions until it comes to loading character selection, which doesn't happen.

Client won't start via new launcher, .exe, old launcher. Using .exe it got as far as "local session corrupt restart". No amount of restarting matters, I have at least 1 character that is now unplayable.
Repair tool completed with errors - C:\Users\Xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\nse3995.tmp\repair.exe.log - does not exist.

This is only affecting 1 account - My other accounts login with no problems.



Oh and the issues with my previous post - Where are the clients settings - I'd like an answer to. It may actually be related to this isuue.
The generic Eve folder doesn't help much when your running multiple clients. Don't know how the Exe file managed it, but it just did, now with a launcher that is supposed to contain this information, it isn't there.

PS; the new launcher is still not going to "offline" when TQ goes down.

Please file a bug report at https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/ - put my name in the description so it gets routed to me, give as much detail as you can and I´ll follow up on this on Monday.

Perhaps a settings duplication feature might be nice. To be able to make one "Master Setting" and then duplicate it and make minor changes to it in game (such as different Neocoms or launching to a specific monitor).

You can do that from the same window you can add and copy profiles (profile menu - settings). Just select TQ from both dropdowns and drag your main profile to ´right side again. It will ask to rename it.

ps. very nicely done that settings management window. Maybe not the easiest to get into, but once you do, it's very handy and powerful. :)

I'd like for it to be a master profile that can copy to unknown characters/accounts without additional intervention (otherwise known as 'tedious xref of character/account id's'). Even if the launcher will copy the character/account dependent parts of the profile on detection (which it does not), for me it should also feed those changes made back into that master profile on client close for example, and not just fork a copy that will then subsequently diverge with out of date overviews, etc. .

Otherwise, it's still not really better for me than launching for a specific monitor via a set of desktop shortcuts to different junctions for bin/exefile, from where I only then login the account>char I want.

I'd like to use one set of settings, but select the monitor a client will load on, in the launcher before I click run.

Main 1-3 (rarely more than 2 at once) mostly preferable on mon1 or 2; alts mostly preferably on Mon 3-5 (with lower graphics settings, but that's not a requirement or at least one I can fix with a deliberate settings fork).

The initial goal with settings profiles in the new launcher was exactly to give you the same functionality as different junctions (or full installs). That doesn't mean we'll stop there, but sometimes things are best done in baby steps.

Going beyond that requires changing the client code itself - as soon as the launcher is stable and we can have everybody migrating over to the new launcher, we'll shift our focus to improving settings overall.

my friend have difficulties to update the launcher he say updating but when it close he do nothing

i try evertything ... trying to check folder right ... runing like admin ... close antivirus ... no firewall ... etc...


the only thing that worked ... i send the .exe and overwrite it ... and its work ...


but autoupdating fail ...


so 2 time he have the launcher update fail ...


... me at my side all is working fine ...

he have windows 10 and me too ...

clueless

in the launcher settings (E top left->Settings)

there is a mode, did your friend touch that and went beta or development? if so, set it to release


you could try to uninstall; empty the registry key HKCU\Software\ccp\eve (not eveonline) and reinstall



edit : oh with your copy of the exe, don't bother doiing anything, just uninstall and reinstall, this is the symptom from last week, when some ppl had checked development version

I am making progress, yes, but there are still a few issues to sort out. The biggest thing is launching multiple clients, or rather ensuring they don't crash when one of them is closed.

The Windows version seems stable enough for now so I am focused on the Mac version until it catches up.

Bug reported 1 or 2 page above friday night (eve vegas, sleeping, week end, I know I know)

- right clic is still possible in launcher UI, provoking unexpected logon error if you use "back" during saving account
- still removing files in the folder, I won't start again, but BEWARE boot.ini and "run as admin" with install in root
- double clic on a teal colored account when the client is minimized (to bring it back) provoke rogue windows to appear
- double clic to bring back a client on top cancel resize/maximize and bring it back to original launch size.


do you want me to open 4 Bug report, or just one?

With the new update im constantly checking to see which setting profile i have selected.. can the client show your client profile #. otherwise i love the new client!

The latest version of the launcher (974011) does not store the username like it did in previous versions. Disregard that point.

The latest version also has the logged in accounts section in the middle partially covered by notification of upcoming events.

Those are message of the days (motd) and work for now (at least) as designed. They go away when you click them (not very clear that it works like thath though).

Not clear also, but you can increase the launcher size by dragging corners (handle zone is really small)

increase in width and the notification don't bloc the view.


Also, no history of notifications, you missed it or clic it, you can't get it back.

When starting up for the first time, default sizing of window hides the bottom of the EULA and the "accept" button for the EULA confirmation behind static banner adds at the bottom. While I can resize the window large enough to find it, it's probably not the best situation.

In GODS NAME!!!! bring back the bloody in game login screen!!!!!

Seriously FFS, it worked 10 X better than any other peace of **** we had to use to log in for the past couple of years.

go launch the exefile, logon from game... no?

(beware if you launch exefile from new folder, it will of course create a new settings folder, have fun)

Filed as a bug report already, but maybe someone here can help:

When I first open the launcher, I get this screen: http://i.imgur.com/bnt38EX.png

If I close the launcher and try again, I get the same thing.

However, if I leave the failed copy of the launcher open and open a second instance of the launcher, the second copy loads everything fine. The first remains blank.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing seems to help.

Any ideas?
