Not scared at all, given who I actually work for in real life I do not have a facebook account anyways. That is not the point, the point is meta gaming has already been taken to a whole new level... Don't give a knife to a serial killer.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

Why would you assume this game's player base would resort to threatening physical violence for disagreements had online?

Do you not trust us?

Yes, lets make it so you're only allowed to post on the forums if your facebook account is linked and verified to have your name on face book matching the credit card used when creating/paying for your eve sub.

That way we can ensure that we can hold the person responsible for the things they say on these forums.

Not just their characters, but their actual person. Way too often people on these forums get away with things that they would not attempt if their true identities were at stake.

I don't have to assume anything. How uninformed you are.

Wars have started many a time because of smack in local. Why should it be different for the forums?

Back to actual content,

How cool would it be if you could fly around a Bustard with 180km ship hangar that cloaks when you swap into your procurer or moa that you keep inside?

We need space RV's so I can set up camp wherever, whenever.

You mean an Orca? Yeah we should have Orcas in game. Minus the cloaking when you abandon it... that idea is funny.

An orca doesn't really work because it's geared towards multiple people.

Orca pilot lets others store ships inside, other people come and take the ships whenever, but that orca pilot is stuck to the orca if he's going to keep it out in space not in a pos. If he ejects from that orca to jump into his Cruiser to go kill belt rats or run sites, then the orca is fair game to be scanned down and stolen.

I'm talking an orca-esque ship that can deploy into a mini pos. When it's deployed it follow's POS rules for being destroyed, except a substantially smaller reinforce timer, like 15-30 minutes to allow the owning pilot to return and figure out how the hell he's going to defend it.

Something for the solo player. The wanderer. The drifter. The guy who flys from system to system just trying to make his way in the world, err in the space. The equivalent of a guy driving around the country in his Winnebago hooked up with a trailer he keeps his ATV's on.

I would go to a community gathering like Evesterdam, Fanfest, etc dressed as a hooker before I would make a Farcebook account. Ugh

You advocated an inane garbage site and use hash tags? Man mode? Teen girl mode.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

At its most basic, all CCP needs to do is supply us with a sandbox with as few rules as needed to supply a bit of balance.

It's up to us to create the content that decides whether the game lives or dies. It's our game to screw up as we see fit. And it's our game to revive, if we're even capable as EVE players of looking beyond our own selfish play styles and seeing the big picture.

It's certainly been interesting over the years to watch this game go from "Good fight mate", to "HAHAHA I ****** you up good, loser GTFO".

We have only ourselves to blame for the state of the game. No one else.

Mr Epeen Cool

QFT; and in the spirit of this post, it's worth mentioning SP as a major content problem for fresh subs, including the referrals of both newbies and veterans.

I've written a whole post on it here, cited multiple (established) theories and relevant research, and contrasted them to critiques through the thread.

Enjoy.

"SP is helpful for the game?" Here's all of the research on motivation -- it says the opposite! What purpose does it serve, then? Starter corps are non-competitive. Sov is unchallenged. "Fix sov!" you say? Remove SP.

Force a player <-> character relation of 1:1. Remove the ability to trade characters and skillpoints.
