unidentified wormholes-any updates?

So I'm new to wormholse and have casually been keeping up with how they work. One thing I would like to know is what the current status is for unidentified wormholes. I know that drifers live there and that there are sites that you can go to but do they serve any purpose yet? I heard you can get some minerals from the named npc but that mineral has no use yet. Has anything changed?

There were postings of pictures supposedly from the test server showing that the various elements would be used to produce new boosters. Those boosters appeared to perhaps not have side effects. These things have not been released though, and so the entire thing could be a ruse cruise, but we will see.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.
