Went to Null-Sec to Test Bombs for the first time.

I didn't know that Concord would show up if area of effect weapons were used in low sec.

Anyways, I tested the SB bombs except that I couldn't test the EMP Bomb or other damage bombs yet.

I only tested the Void Bomb.

At least it wasn't the focused bombs.

Plus I forgot to save all the screenshots that I took and the chat logs.

The Void bomb managed to hit 4 or so ships the 2nd time but there were no large capital ships there.

It was the first time that I saw the bomb effect in the circle before warping away.


I got destroyed shortly after while stationed in the nearby low-sec system though.
As soon as I left to try to go test 2 EMP Bombs which I forgot in hangar btw, 4 red ships appeared, probably all negative security, and tackled me.
My ship didn't have much on it though, all the launchers were taken off.


I would have been better to save the time for Market Trading though.
I lost about 25m, to 60m in that Stealth Bomber ship costs.


The second time around using the second bomb, I managed to align myself with the waypoint of a planet to make the bomb run.

Bombers can be a lot of fun, solo or in gangs. They are not so easy to use, and very demanding to use well.
There are various groups around eve that encourage and specialise in covops / bomber tactics.
Long time ago I spent many weekends with the Bombers Bar. At that time they were an apolitical NPSI gang doing some brilliant fun stuff with bombers and recons. They've changed a lot since then but they're still doing bomber stuff.
If you're interested in this arm of eve-combat then you might want to search and seek them out, and get involved. You're unlikely to regret it.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

I did fly with Bombers Bar, still do and I'm active on Blops and more for some reasons outside of this channel as it is sensitive.

Yes, they were apolitical in the sense that they were not an Empire with known sov (or sovereignty owned systems in null-sec).
However, please realize that there was a lot of politics going on, and that they were political without sovereignty.
They were what was then called Freedom Fighters, which are still political, some reasons being, not supporting Empire's Loyalties...

I also have a Recon, which I also happened to have had logged and running with my bomber, however, not during the last and first bomb run test.

I just tested Focused Void Bomb but the test was nothing but conclusive.

The least I could have tried was to test it on anomalies.


This time around, I got lost in 0.0 from a WormHole (WH) which collapsed.

I self-destructed to avoid getting on any kill mail, but I didn't get the names of any players attacking me.

Also, I didn't try to send a cyno in deep space, and it would be hard to do.



Also, the 4 bombs (2 of which loaded) dropped (worth around 14m ISK, pretty sure I took and saved screenshots...).
The cloak also dropped (around 2.n m ISK).

only ever took part in 1 organised bomber run, it was very well organised and the first run bagged me 7 hurricane kills, allbeit it was around 10-20 bombers involved. great fun if you have an fc who knows how to do it properly
