Can't Login - Character Selection Stuck Non-Interactable with Solution

I was unable to login past the character selection screen, with it being non-interactable, and showing only the character portrait of one of the characters on the account, with none of the usual information present.

SOLUTION
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE (or wherever you have Eve installed), and run rescache.exe (if it doesn't work, try running as Administrator).

For me, it identified corrupted and missing files, and asked me if I wanted to download them. Once that was complete (took awhile), everything was back to working okay.

I figured I'd post this here in case anyone else encountered this issue.

worked for me, was on Programdata, one of the hidden files for me thoughSad


Edit: 48000 Files roughly missing :)

Mine is located missing files too and replaced them. For me a "quick fix" was close and relog and that seemed to work 80% of the time. But much appreciated man :)

For anyone at CCP, this just occurred again for me.

I've been playing Eve on this install for many years, so not sure what's going on.

Is there any particular info you'd like?

had the same issue, worked after that.

It has something todo with your load on demand. just for the future

don't forget the cache can also be corrupted
it is not cleaned up by rescache and can be cleaned up from the game menu... but when not accessible, you need to do it manually

C:\Users\%username%\appdata\local\ccp\eve

(hit window+r and paste the path abve, hit enter)

locate the eve profile folder ( looks like c_program_files_eve_tranquility and correspond to where you installed eve) usually it is the latest modified folder it there is multiple

open the folder and rename the cache folder and launch the game
it should recreate the cache folder

maybe it'll fix your problem, if not, then nothing to be done here, there is a know issue server side and only support and GM can fix this, I see you already post there ;)
