Do you guys think drone ships are as good as other types of DPS oriented ships?
I almost never see drone boats pvping..
VNIs are great for ratting...
Do y'all think drone boats should be looked at and brought up to par with other ships?
Maybe have done interfacing updated to.. because right clicking to launch drones and giving attack commands via a drop down can be a little difficult at times..

This feels kind of like a troll.

If you were going to run a large PvP battleship fleet your best choice would be a domi fleet.
Prophecy's and myrmadons do well.
Ishtars are probably still OP.

Everything smaller than cruiser seems to be T3D right now.

So I would say that drone ships aren't weak at all right now, and sentry drones are probably still OP because of their ability to project battleship DPS at long range, even down to cruiser hulls.

No I'm not trolling..
I just really never see drone boats pvping..
I dunno if it is due to interface problems or dps...
It's always the std dps ships and t3ds ..
And the faction ships like orthrus..
But never vexors or domis...

Granted I pulled out a vexor navy issue and PvPd with it on our station undock just because..
And it got me thinking.. I never really see them in PvP.. they have potential...
And I'm thinking it's mainly due to interface issues having to deal with drop down menus to do everything..
It's not very fluid ya know...
Compared to other dps ships that just target and spam f1..

So I figured I'd get everyone's opinions on the matter..

You know you're probably right..
I don't think their weak but I do think to bring them up to par with the main doctrines used now days interfacing needs to be revamped..

most of the important drone commands can be done via hot keys now so that helps a lot. Plus the radial menu makes using drones a little better imo. but the drone interface pretty much has always needed work.

as far as power level they are among the most used ships in game. they are fine or even need nerfing.

I'm not sure if the ishtar is use anymore, it's hard for me to imagine that it's fallen out of favor, but domis stopped being a doctrine when the jump fatigue change went it. It was too hard to move around that much m3 when the ishtar did the same thing.

But I can pretty much guarantee that if they reverted jump fatigue and fozzie sov, domi's would be the go to battleship doctrine of choice.

Gilas, ishtars and vexors are quite popular. I even see 'em on gates fighting in HS every now and then.

most of the large power blocs use ishtars if they are not using macharials....

Drones are still an extremely healthy place.
Frigate:Tristan and worm are still little monsters.
Destroyers:Hull algos is still a thing.
Cruiser:Seriously? Vexor, VNI, Ishtar... the pod people are still rolling around wrecking.
Battlecruiser: Myrm may have a sh*tty bay size but it can still tank like a brick. Prophecy too.
Battleships: Rattlesnake. Rattlesnake. Oh and domi.

Yeah I haven't PvPd as much as some but I have been around long enough to have a valid opinion..

The initial fleet from the 70+ fleet that engaged us the other day was all Ishtars till they up shipped, the roaming gang we caught in Null was all Vexors, every single FW area has at least one Tristan or an Algos, and Worms everywhere else, Gila's are everywhere, and Rattlesnake doctrines are amazing! Drone ships have high as hell DPS, and it is selectable damage in the forms of different racial types, I am only new and I have learned to hate fighting those things, but anyways, I see more Drone boats then I see Gun boats.

I'm using a worm fit that does 345 DPS heated with not quite perfect skills, all 5 would probably hit 360.

drones are top of the food chain in just about every ship class. small/medium projectiles are in a bad place, some missiles are in a bad place. drones are in a very very... very good place.
