So...

The new Invulnerability Fields are on SiSi server, looks nice but.... CCP

They are active harderdeners and we were told that you guys whould be looking to introduce a
passive hardener to make shield capitals tank a bit less vulnerable to neuts etc.
Any news on that.... or is this it?

Out of curiosity where did you find the data for these, chaos build?

Much appreciated. Hopefully the price of Gurista/CN's will come way down.

I mean more like; so that you can choose.
either a active invul field with lots of resist
or a passive with less resist (like how the CN/DGs are now)

Shields should not get a passive omni, thats what armour gets. So unless your planning on giving armour an active omni then I call bs. Having that difference between the two is a good thing imo.

I tend to agree with you here... There should be a difference between armor and shield.
and now that I learned about the new shield (fleet) bonus thing I am thinking we might not even
need a passive hardener... but still, just asking.

Comparing the Aeon with Wyvern... the Wyvern still lacks some EHP I think.

I'd like a passive one. Would make tanking small ships like frigs a lot less massively cap dependent.

Good they did put a new deadspace invu. But fact is, the Hel still suck as supercarrier and need an urgent fix.

It'd be ridiculous if they did.

They bridge the gap between faction and Estamel by seeding a more common alternative to the rarer officer types on the Market. Hopefully we'll see CN/DG prices come down.

The differences between armor and shield are very delicately balanced performance wise (price is something else)
Yes invuls can be shut off, but on the other hand they can also be overheated. And why should we not be able to shut down the tank on a super capital with neuts? Just get some cap transfer and be happy you can overheat...

The EM/Therm/Exp/Kin Shield Compensation skills give a 3%/level resistance bonus to disabled active shield hardeners. Maybe this should be buffed to take into consideration what Shield Hardener is fit on the ship?

Possibly something like "To Active Shield Hardeners: 12% bonus per skill level to of the modules resistance to Shield resistance when the modules are not active."

Math reasoning for 12%:

Invulnerability Field I gives a 25% bonus to all resistances. Current default is 15% bonus to all resistances at level 5 of the Shield Compensation skills. From there 60% of 25% is 15%. An Invulnerability Field II would be bumped up from 15% passive to 18% passive and Estamel's at the top would go from 15% to 30%. The buff to the high end gear would be nice without making the low end stuff totally OP.
