So here's my plan... To kill this freighter.

So I've been hanging out in this .5 system. There happens to be a multiboxer here, 10+ skiffs and he uses an Obelisk (I thought freighters couldn't scoop from anything other than POSs and while docked?) to move the ice from the belt to station. Every 10 minutes he jet cans the ice from the skiffs and scoops it to the Obelisk. Is it just me or is he making himself rather vulnerable? I think I'm going to try to drop a can of ice next to him, hoping he isnt paying attention enough, scoops the ice from my can, thus stealing and making his freighter fair game. I can get some friends to sit in next system over to jump in and take the freighter down if this is the case. Otherwise I was thinking of just perma-bumping his freighter until he goes mad. I have been out of EVE for a while so I don't know if this would work with current highsec mechanics. Any holes in this plan?

Most likely outcome, is that he will not touch the can since he has "green" safeties.

Consider suicide ganking him instead or just wardeccing the corp.

I see. What if I scoop all his cargo and re-jet can it? If he wants it he'd still have to steal and I dont think he has much he can do to stop me. Takes like 30 catalyst to take down a freighter in .5 right?

You can harass them by scooping the miners loot. You need an industrial to actually do that, cause of the volume of the ore. Just remember, you get a suspect timer for doing so. So keep an eye out on anything that can warp disrupt you and kill you.

Don't know the amount of ships needed to take down a freighter. But yeah, you need a few. Which is why you could always just wardec them and keep your opponent docked, or hope that they are foolish enough to keep undocking with mining ships, which you can take on solo.

Sounds like an opportunity for CODE to do something useful i.e. clamp down on a true bot aspirant. Which system is this occurring in?

You could try going suspect and then pissing him off via perma-bumping or stealing from cans...however you will need logi support and SIGNIFICANT dps to deal with a mob of skiffs. A pirate cruiser, HAC, T3, battlecruiser or even a battleship with at least 2 logi would be needed.

One of my hisec alts saw CODE people mission-running last night. WTF kids, you're failing at your self-proclaimed mission.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Your not a Master Pirate until you can effectively siphon 1 billion ESS from a system.

CODE Running missions?

Back on topic.

I operate a Skiff with 2x Drone Damage Amplifiers TII and use five Medium T2 Combat Drones. Without any implants I am able to get 296.6 DPS. Multiply that by ten and that is nearly 3000 DPS. That is a lot of DPS. If the multi - boxer is good enough he will be watching local and will have CODE already set to - Red as an alliance.

Bot-Aspirant? It sounds like the pilot likes playing Eve - Online and if he can afford ten Skiffs and one Obelisk and have them all online at the same time, what type of Pilot do you think your dealing with?

$$$$ that's what type of pilot your dealing with.

It would be a big coincidence, but I may have seen the same player just yesterday. There were at least 10 Skiffs in an ice belt surrounding an Obelisk.

All of the Skiffs had their drones out, forming a big sphere of drones around them. It was kinda cool looking P

One rather big hole in that last part that I am surprised nobody pointed out:
He will petition you for harassment and you will probably get a warning.

Bumping is a valid mechanic to hold someone up for an incoming suicide gang or just to annoy them of whatever in the short term. Persistent bumping and following someone around to bump them for no reason other than to irritate them was considered harassment last time I remember reading about it (couldn't find anything very up to date from a GM/DEV about it however).

How come I didn't post in this thread?
There used to be pilots hunting my T1 + T2 hauling ships in High-sec and low-sec with a nearby associate freighter of theirs to scoop my drops if any...

However annoying it may be, it would make for a few billion loot in potential.
Efficiency level of videos on YouTube or other can even be used to compete on the Market Discussions for still more potential contracts.

True. Removed my statement so it won't mislead people. Totally forgot about the can flipping changes.
