My point is that it is a fault of CCP, that they made the ship with incorrect stats. It was on test server, it was moved to the main server. Now new dev comes in and says it is overpowerd bla bla bla. This is wrong.

Too many ships god killed in the past because of this.

Imagine real life, you buy a car, drive it for half a year, then manufacture comes and says, oy, your mercedes is too good, have a bad one instead. That is what CCP doing now with Gila and Orthurus.

That what was done to Ishtar not long ago...

Yes, but much like the Ishtar, many people were well aware that these ships were OP...


In truth, your analogy is a bit off.

A better analogy would be like saying that Mercedes recalled their cars because they had been streamlined like a bullet, but it cause a wake that blew other cars off the road, and the only way for them not to be blown away is to buy the very same car.
Not a problem for the person in the Mercedes, but a bit of an issue for everyone else.


Now, I will say that I'm not much of a PVP'er, so I wasn't aware that the Gila was that powerful.
However, I was somewhat aware of the worm, and fully aware of the Orthrus and Garmur.

That being said, I don't believe CCP should have to refund SP.
Even if you weren't aware, the ship still exists and is still fully capable of what is was doing, just not at the extreme extent to which they are now.
If they were to be doing something like changing the Gila from a drone boat to a pure missile boat, I could understand being upset.
Or changing the Orthrus from a kite boat to a heavy tank.

That being said, they may not be AS good as they were, but they will still be fully capable.

They just won't be an "I win" button anymore.

Hmm, almost it seems that op is unaware that the skills maxxed for the gila are useful elsewhere?
Just look forward to mastering another ship before its time comes and it has to limp off to the sidelines.

When Titans were nerfed... no one was reimbursed.

When Supercarriers were nerfed... no one was reimbursed.

When Drednoughts were nerfed... no one was reimbursed.

When research chips (used for BPO research) had multiple points of sourcing introduced (nerfing the income of researchers)... no one was reimbursed.

When loot tables were altered (nerfing the income of mission running)... no one was reimbursed.

When salvaging tables were altered (nerfin the income of salvaging)... no one was reimbursed.

When Tech 3 destroyers were introduced (obsoleting most Assault Frigates)... no one was reimbursed.

When Tech 3 ships were slightly nerfed... no one was reimbursed.

Each time SOV was changed up (causing all the money invested in a system to become pointless)... no one was reimbursed.


The list goes on and on and on.

Just because you chase after something or attain a level of "mastery," it doesn't mean that it will stay that way forever.

FOTM cycles anyway so those SP will be very useful in the future.

A few years ago I invested a lot of SP into BCs, as they were fun, strong and relatively cheap. Of course for a few years BCs have been utter crap as cruisers got too much of a buff to the point that BCs were made redundant. But since the last patch BCs are once again useful and I'm getting use back into my old skills. Same will happen to just about any other ship.

Hard ship to master, lol. Fit RLML, massive shield buffer, and some augmented medium drones > unleash utterly brakeless **** train.

Gila was needed 1 low slot and CPU or PG (can't remember)

How about, no? You made a choice live with it.

You will only be reimbursed if its role is completely changed, the skill itself is changed or the ship is removed. Caldari, Gallente, Drones and Missiles are all good skills to have. So get over it.

when you train a ship because its fotm of the month that means it is going to at some point meeting the nerf bat. This is not a hidden trend.

CCP's other trend is also slots and grid. Study eve history before you do fotm all I can say. Slots and grids works for them....it castrated dual neut o cane literally overnight. Patch hit and damn it hurt. I was not mad about this patch. Quite the oppositie. I was wondering what took ccp so damn long to fix it. I flew dual neut o cane, it had issues balance wise and they were so obvious it was a question of when not if the nerf bat would hit it. Best you do in this case.....ride that gravy train till they derail it.



Fun fact...its you and the 200000000 other players spamming it who speed up this process, btw. High use skylines a ship. Once on the skyline, you stand out for nerf bat drive by's.

Also some whining about Gila nerf....what skills are now useless? Drones are good for many ships. Shield doctrine is here to stay (wished it came sooner as I had started shields but had to learn armour long ago when armour was the dominant king of tanking), as well as missiles. Yes HML nerfed a bit back, but you have core support in place for others.

this thread cant be happening.......i mean really, its common sense you are not going to get your sp reset(which ever one you might think needs reseting/returned/reimbursed).

If everyone in this thread supported the idea of SP reset, when CCP screws up a ship, then it could be possible, that it would happen.

I trained all the drone skills for Ishtar (which was like it was for many many years, i think since the introduction of sentry drones and even before that, correct me if I am wrong) and it gets "rebalanced" in terms of slot layout and gets hit by a nerf bat with sentry damage. To me it becomes useless. Remind you it's not 2 weeks train time to get all those skills.

Now another ship which I realy liked gets hit by a nerf bat. And noone isn't responsible for this. On the other hand what am I talking about, ppl get killed in the world on a daily basis, hospitals get bombed, and noone is charged for that. And I am talking about responsibility in game.

And it is like that all the time.

Except RL approach is bad for a competitive (sorta) video game and vica versa. No point in bringing that up.

Nah, it was just a brief period of like one year of great Gilas, and you should've taken the hint when DDAs (a rather new module aswell) got nerfed.

So you mean they should just make Gila and Orthurus unable to apply any dmg to other players (disallow the car from competition) ?
