Minelayers to the battlefield!

I was going through the ships and ship type classes that EVE has and noticed that there is something missing!

Minelayers!

Mark I spacemine

Area of effect 5000 m

Blast HP 10000

Let's say one minelayer could 'shoot' a web of 10 mines with one run. Possible tactics could be some kind of trailing. Laying mines to the gates or other passages. You get the idea.

But I have one possible problem: server. Could these become problem for the server? If 50 minelayers drop 10 mines, then it's 500 mines.

I noticed some mines in sell category, but I did not find any mines from in game market tool. What's up with that?

They were removed from the game for soul destroying lag, server death, and mad bugs & weird behaviour associated with them. With no reason to bring them back in to make gate camping super easy.
Want a 'mine'.
It's called a ship with smart bombs pulsing and a logistics ship feeding it cap.

All other objections aside (and there are a few) if you want to kill something then I firmly believe you should be on grid and actively pursuing that end.

Sitting in a station a few jumps away enjoying a peticure and a tall, cold G&T while giggling softly as the AFK kills come rolling in is not something you should be able to do in this game.

No think, this is epic.
1. Train 10 characters capable of using minelayer ships .
2. Cyno them on top of enemy fleet.
3. Drop as much mines as you can.
4. Most of the enemy fleet is dead , as 1mil of raw damage dropped on the enemy.

Any battle solved before it begin!

Now what I would like is the ability to set bombs in wrecks or cargo containers. Something easy to spot, but instant death on those who hit "loot all" without looking, and death on any MTU that pulls them in. Now that would be fun. Should make you go suspect in highsec or lowsec if you don't own the wreck. Way more fun than mines.

Alright, I did not know that, but I suspected that there might be server issues.

buuuuuut....
I think....
Maybe faster do Deployable structures with smaller damage and min distanse, for example deploy 100km than gates, ect. Cost maybe like mobile warp distributors and restrict only to 0.0 that will be nice :D.
What think about it? That will be better.

Mines should have the following parameters:
HP
Damage
Explosion radius
Explosion velocity
Activation radius
Activation delay
Activation energy/weight
Deployment time
Deployment minimum distance
Life time
System security restrictions
Deployment restrictions

With that, it should be possible to balance them. Mines could be an interesting addition to shape a battlefield like anchor boubles.

P.S.:
An infinite number of trolls on an infinite number of connected pc's will, eventually, provide for an enjoyable friday

Intriguing... bring risk to the loot screen. I like it.
