To be honest, I think NPC corp should be wardecable (for a sufficiently high price.)

That... or it should be possible to buy shares in them, perform a hostile takeover, install yourself as CEO and turn on friendly fire.

And within 24 hours, a vast percentage of the playerbase would likely vanish forever.

Eve dont want those bears anyways.

Remember that dev post? There are some players that it is 9kay or good to lose or whatever he said. Sometimes it is good when certain players leave.
Something like that.

What was it? "Don't let the door hit yah where the good Lord split yah?" Always a pleasure.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

EVE most certainly does, otherwise it wouldn't exist.

There should be 6 NPC Player Corporations:

Capsuleer Initiative (for up to 30 days)

Capsuleer Collective (as the default corporation for anyone over 30 days old)

The 4 FW corps.

That's it.

Star Jump Drive A new way to traverse the galaxy.

I invented Tiericide

I think a better use of development time would be finding a way to get those players into player corporations instead.

Nowadays it's basically a requirement to have TS3 to be in a player corp and I prefer silence and privacy when playing eve, so NO!

Ill bite on this one.... because WAAAAY back when your starting NPC corp mattered. Youd get different bonuses and stats based on your starting corp, blood line and ancestory. This was then progressively nerfed down into what it is today. Where everyone starts basically the same with only a few racial weapon and frigate differences. Its also why you see so many Achura characters as they were the best stats to roll.

But if you had google fu or a brain or were actually OLD in the game and not a ******* noob like you prove on the forums youd know this already.Roll

Ccp "fix" "change" and "balance"stuff every 6-12weeks.

Why cant they change this?

Because CCP has always said that choices should have consequences and its been dumbed down enough where there ARE no choices or consequences because of cry babies like you!! Cookie cutter characters without any real differences or meanings. More sps for those building alts! Yeah uhuh...Roll

Maybe they understood that it is not good gameplay to have noobs make hard choices with consequences when they least can evaluate these consequences: At character creation.

I pay CCP good mullah little youngster from my numerous accounts. If they ever develop your miniscule-like thinking, eve PO will shrink down to like 5k. How long do you think your precious PVP centralize Eve will survive in that state?

So for those of us that did it and still are here that means what? Yes we are the minority youre right, but that doesnt mean we like idiot proof worlds.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

I think OP has a point - if there were less NPC corps they would be more likely to become active in the way that CAS is active. If each race had only one newbie corp then it would be more viable for people who like helping newbies to roll a character and start giving a newbie corp some structure, fleets, channels etc. I also think that this would have the effect of giving the races a greater cultural identity of their own - every new character would pass through one of these corps and get some level of exposure to their way of doing things.

Another good feature could be if the newbie corps had an optional PvP flag which would allow them to shoot at flagged members of the opposing factions' newbie corps in highsec - there could be an almost RvBesque situation between them, but optional and without the added complication of faction police that FW corps experience. The flag should be turned off by default to give newbros a chance to get their bearings. Maybe they shouldn't even be able to turn it on until they have finished the career agent missions and tutorial.

I've always been an advocate of older players who drop corp being put in faction militias - non-newbie NPC corps as they currently exist are not healthy for the game. Older players should still be able to drop to an NPC corp to opt out of wardecs but it should be one which exposes them to greater risks/restrictions and which has an identity and PvP culture of its own. This would encourage more players to stay in player corps and enrich the NPC corp experience at the same time.

Let me join the Guristas at the cost of my security rating (and a free Taipan once in a while) and I don't care what you do to the other NPC Corps. Burn them to the ground if you have to!

But moaning about NPC corps because you want newbies to flock to your "newbie friendly" corporations and not let them do their thing at their own pace is really selfish. What kind of sandbox game denies choice? I don't want to "hero tackle" or whatever silly stuff the big corporations and alliances force the newbies to do. "It's for their own good" won't cut it for me!

Problem is, we don't exactly know how the starter school and default NPC corp are really linked to our character so it might be a PITA to unscrew that system and rebuild it so we all get the same corps. Is there really much to gain from herding all those NPC corp player into larger less numerous corps?

Dude it cant be that hard lol.
Im in CS 215 and CpE 271 and could figure it out

I am so sick of ccp scapegoating their lack of programming skills on POS Code.

Its been freaking almost 13years.
A 5th grader could figure out the POS code if they had 13years to play with it.

Get good ccp. I can code for you for 10$ an hour if you guys are thi lacking in skill. Hell it wont take me freaking 10years to figure it out

Hmm, interesting. Something like this?

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Not like putting all NPC Corp players into CAS will necessarily increase player retention, particularly new players, but we can certainly offer the opportunity for some group activities they might not otherwise know of. I, having started may EVE trial not knowing anybody else in the game, certainly lucked out by starting in a Corp with like minded people I've enjoyed hanging out with ever since.
