Because it hurts the loners in the dead npc corps.
If someone hasnt joined a good player corp or had a bad experience and then return to a totally dwad/terrible npc corp. They may just quit.

It would bring npc players together and could encourage more grouping/friendships.

Its kind of like was an mmo is dying and they merge servers.

Just merge the separate npc corps of each race together and boom. Instant more people/etc etc.

Why has 3 separate Gallente npc corps each with (random #) 200 people online, when can merge and boom gall npc corp then has almost 1000 people

So, what is good for you must there for be good for everyone else too.

You are being ignorant.
Read some devblogs/csm minutes/patch notes

CCP DEVS AND CCP GM refer to missions as dungeoms.

Seriously thats what THEY call them

They should gb2wow then. And take you with them. You can all sit around in your one corp dungeon.

I believe the 12 schools are a legacy artifact of the old sub-races that no longer have a mechanical effect ingame.

That said - I have had alts in various schools for different races scattered all over the place and they are not all the same:
- Some schools are toxic and have a large number of scammers and people trying to bait newbies into duels.
- Other schools are dead and no-one chats at all.
- However several have very active communities of longterm players that go out of the way to help new players and even set up fleet ops.

Combining them would be detrimental. If anything I would be in favor of adding more schools for the likes of Khanid and Ammatar and Thukker and Gurista and SOE :D

We all know there's no such thing as a serious CAM post.

This is a signature.

It has a 25m signature.

No it's not a cosmic signature.

Probably.

Btw my corp's recruiting.

You're looking at it wrong: of all the NPC corps that belong to each empire (def. more than 3), only 3 are used to dump players in.

So guess what can happen if CCP decides to spread us out a bit more.

I was following until you said that Scope was good, instead of a bunch of drooling tryhards and butthurt spergs.

I rather agree - the NPC corps offer a useful way in finding other players. Expanding the possible corps would offer a way of players progressing and finding their way into the game.

Your tone suggests that you are a Goon, and yet your corp ticker screams NPC alt non-entity pubbie

Scope can be extremely entertaining at times, informative at others and very irritating at other times. But I can't say it's ever dead for long.

I -heart- CAS, as it's very active and fun, but my alt there rarely gets playtime.

NPC corps serve a function in that a casual player that doesn't want to play the corp game isn't walled out and left without an interest that keeps them paying a subscription to CCP.

I'd be ok with a way to open an additional chat with the other NPC corps in the same faction, however. I suppose it'd function like an alliance chat vs a corp chat?

The five cardinal rules for getting serious things accomplished:

1. Beware self-aggrandizing people bearing good ideas.

2. Take caution when heeding folks with too much time on their hands.

3. Avoid those whose keyboards are more active than their gray cells.

4. When offered advice on the internet by those who know, duck!

5. Ignore those who offer opinion as fact, and can't tell the difference.

I'm sorry...you were saying?

There just isn't anything that can be said!

CCPs easiest option isnt to amalgamate all the corps into one. Just give them an "alliance" chat where they are all in together. Could even add in the militias as a member so youd have a huge pool of people to chat to if you so wished.

But the results would be just as dead/toxic/etc as now because of the people involved.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Blood lines and lore - defacto to answer

How's it a problem?

Ignore them and move self into a corporation and progress.

It appears that you need me to think back to the first year of wow when there were many bots running about the low levels and level 50s mighty upset they couldn't touch them to imagine your levels of butt hurt about this.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Maybe there was a set limitation built into the old code/database and ccp sees no need to waste time fixing or changing it? Your assumption is that this is a quick easy fix, but there could be a host of technical challenges this could add.

For examble, 1 byte hold 256 values. That easily covers all notnpc corps.

However, 1 byte may not be enough to cover adding all the players into just one or two npc corps. It may take 2, 3 or more. Not lot, but if your goal is to limit data transmission to speed up network communication, every byte counts.

Ill bite on this one.... because WAAAAY back when your starting NPC corp mattered. Youd get different bonuses and stats based on your starting corp, blood line and ancestory. This was then progressively nerfed down into what it is today. Where everyone starts basically the same with only a few racial weapon and frigate differences. Its also why you see so many Achura characters as they were the best stats to roll.

But if you had google fu or a brain or were actually OLD in the game and not a ******* noob like you prove on the forums youd know this already.Roll

Ccp "fix" "change" and "balance"stuff every 6-12weeks.

Why cant they change this?

Because it's a waste of time to change and god know how deep in the code the NPC corps assignation are. The time it would take is probably put to better use than changing something as irrelevant as the number of NPC corps...

I officially concede the idea of merging the 3 race corps into one in favor our a Race Alliance Faction chat Channel.

You want to be alone? Dont read channel.
You want to try grouping/fleeting? Talk to now 800 people not the 100 in your dead Royal Amarr Npc corp chat.
You want to just talk/share fits. Boom people to talk to, if you picked "wrong" race you dont have to be punished with zero corpmembers in your npc corp.
What to scam/grief? Boom 800 people instead of 100 etc etc etc

Seriously there is no bad and this can only INCREASE RETENTION, INCREASE PEOPLE TO GROUP UP/GET IN PLAYER CORPS, AND ALL SAVE THE NOOBS!!!

All good, no bad. My idea. Yeeeaaah booi

I feel and think that 2 Npc corp per faction is sufficient. 1 Faction Warfare and 1 Wardec immune baby "normal" Npc corp.

It just splits the already shrinking player base. It makes finding friends and groups for dungeons harder.

Personally I would go with 1FW per race and 1 NPC Guild for Noobies of all races together. One guild to bind them all.

But the bestest solution would be to put all existing NPC corps at war with the 3 NPC corps of 2 other races, just like FW ... just from the get go. (/witty reply to obvious troll)
