I solo'd my first 10/10 escalation a few nights back. It was a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't challenging, the bounties were mediocre and the loot drop in the final room wasn't worth much either. This is meant to be among the most challenging and rewarding PvE content in null, right? Did I just head into it with unrealistic expectations?

Random is by the definition, random. Hopefully next time you will get a better drop.

I understand the concept of randomness, but I suppose I was expecting something more. A desperate struggle for survival with a sense of achievement at the end, it wasn't. Were they nerfed at some point? I'm sure people have said they were more difficult than this.

You weren't lucky. Drop from 10/10 sometimes 250 mils, sometimes 1.8 bils...

i lost a vargur doing my first solo one, my own error, however loot drop was ok along with loot fairy saying yes to my wreck i came out even

I'm not quite sure if that fits in when playing eve, but, I guess it has something to do with overkill?

The DED ratings never made much sense. There are 6/10s that are insanely hard and 10/10s that run like a level4.

Here here. I can barely tank a 6/10 if I put on extra hardeners. 8/10s go by easy as a breeze as long as I bring an alt with a blaster Talos for the tower bash.

DED complexes were developed long before Marauders existed. If you went back to 2004/5 and treid to solo and 10/10 with what was available back then, you wouldn't be talking about "easy" lol
