Maelström and L4 missions 2015

I want to fly the big one: Maelström.

How do you fit one nowadays?

Sniping with heavy artillery?

How does the micro jump drive fit into these? Usefull or not?

I do not care about the ISK/hour.

Don't think there's any recent changes that would affect it from how it was in 2014, 2013, etc. Fit AC800s, shield booster, cap booster, some hardeners maybe and a 500mwd with TEs and Gyros in the low. You can go arty but the alha is too high, rof too low, tracking too low and dps too low. good for ver specific mission but outside of that one not really.

on a maelstrom I feel like a MJD doesn't help much as the cool down is pretty long, the mael has a tank bonus, and the range isn't quite long enough, at 100km you do very low damage.

The maels main weaknesses are that it is slow and doesn't have a lot of range.

the fit described above is pretty much standard. with 1400s the alpha is manageable as long as you don't group guns. the other thing with arty is the fit is very tight. you can drop to 1200s which makes it easier to fit, but you lose a bit of dps and range.

You might like the new tempest, has higher dps, lower tank, but can speed/Sig tank nearly as well as a mach. But use ab instead of mwd.

Note that "ready for battleships" is not the very first week you can fly one and fit large turrets.
