Poke a Pilot

I think a new feature to get the attention of a Pilot is needed. The new button would be called Poke. When you click the Poke button an audio sound rings to alert the pilot they are being poked where the pilot poking them would have a glow around their name.

A pilot could only poke another pilot once every two minutes and the name glow would last ten minutes.

I actually already do this with antimatter, definitely no problems getting their attention that way.

Renaming it to something sci-fi-y would be chool. Like hailing a ship or something, attach it to private conversations.

Redundant feature in my opinion, I just use bounties when corp mates do not answer back Pirate.

And when the 200+ people in a fleet all decide to poke the opposing FC?

No to any suggestion where CCP will almost immediately have to make new rules about it being exploited.

That. Definitely exploitable, thus bad idea.

Also, either the guy is someone you know, and you already have another mean of immediately contacting him, either he is not and you don't need an immediate response.

This is rather a irrelevant reply because the same thing can be done with the private conversation button as well.

Using either in such a way to "Spam" the opposing pilot would be no different than spamming a post and should be considered a flame and therefore an offense that can get those exploiting the function banned.

Is it possible to ban people from specific forums, instead from the whole site?

You should be the first one banned then Karrous for purposely spamming the forums with flame posts such as the one above.

People who do not have the ability to imagine anything are always the ones who try and get people banned from forums.

Freedom of speech is not a bannable offense.

I'm not flaming anything. It is my genuine, sincere belief that your ability to post in this specific subforum should be removed, and that in doing so the forum would be improved significantly.

If we're going to judge people by value, you'll be one of the first wave eliminated. So were I you, I'd not go there.

I'm doing none of those things.

You're projecting pretty hard. I retract my original point in the thread however.

You shouldn't be banned from F&I, it should be from the whole site. I was being too kind before.

12. Discussion of forum moderation is prohibited.

The discussion of EVE Online forum moderation actions generally leads to flaming, trolling and baiting of our ISD CCL moderators. As such, this type of discussion is strictly prohibited under the forum rules. If you have questions regarding the actions of a moderator, please file a support ticket under the Community & Forums Category.

You are not a moderator so therefore you are violating this rule as well when you discuss having someone banned which is a form of forum moderation.

Your determination to derail your own thread notwithstanding... well, actually, that's pretty much it.

People don't even need to derail your threads, or even attempt to. You are so insecure and so unable to handle criticism that you do it all on your own.

Now back to the topic.

Poking a pilot could also be used to wake them up if they have fallen asleep which happens rather frequently in this environment.
