Alright, joke aside, losing ships in EVE is common (check my killboard and my wonderful K/D ratio). It can happen to lose an expensive ship - my cousin lost his Rhea to a Gnome ambush in Geminate.
However, he did not quit. With some loaned money that he never payed back, he turned to inter-regional trading and made a huge wealth of 30 billion ISK. He then bought himself a shipbuilding company, and he's been producing ships of every kind.
