An extremely important discussion about ship spinning.

So anyway, I was sitting in a station spinning my ship last night, and I noticed that after you complete 4-5 full revolutions (As in spinning your ship completely around 4-5 times in either direction) that a little counter shows up at the bottom of your screen below where the capacitor UI is while in space.

Every time you spin your ship, it will count it and add it to the number at the bottom of the screen so you know how many times you've spun your ship.
Whoever it was at CCP that thought of this deserves a pat on the back. Actually, the hell with it, just give him a big ass bear hug for me.

I did however notice a slight bug/glitch with this counter!
When you get to any hundred number (100, 200, 300, ect...) that it will glow, and if you spin your ship while it is glowing it will not add that spin to your number. This obviously demands immediate attention.

Seriously though, that tiny addition made me quite happy. Happy enough to make this thread and ramble on for this long.
And really, if a CCP employee does read this thread, give whoever thought of this genius addition a giant bear hug. (Or at the very least a pat on the back, bear hug would be more dramatic though.)

Were you able to unlock any secret messages at high spin numbers? I hear people all over the forums whispering hushed stories of colorful flashy messages once your spin-counter reaches multiples of 5000. I was never able to confirm that. Cry

Only got to about 400, but regardless of the fact that I am sure you aren't serious, I'll get my spin counter over9000 when I get home anyway.

When you get to 200,000 spins, you get a free PLEX in that station. What, you don't believe me? Try it for yourself!

So if I take my drill and run it under my mouse to get a high ship spin count would that be considered botting? What if I made sure to hold the drill and the mouse at the same time?

You're using your mouse wrong.

Quite interesting to read, that people loves excessive ship spinning ... "extremely important" Smile

I would say, there's no reason for disparaging people anymore, who likes CQ instead.

Would it be breaking the EULA if I tethered a hamster over a trackball mouse?

It intrigues me... if you spin the ship in the opposite direction... will it diminish the counter? Question

There's a lone caution light at the only intersection within 15 miles of my house. Sometimes I go there, park on the side and watch it blink. I feel the same about it.

The counter is only diminished as it fades from your affection.
