Nice read. Not many things to laugh so not the best on the forums IMHO, but still, pretty damn good and for sure time expensive. Someone pointed me to this post just tonight so I'm sorry if this seems as poking a dead horse. Roll

I'm relatively new to FW but the W-BR fame is not unknown to me (possibly being killed more by them then doing the killing myself - Your Malediction from last month being the only one I can remember). What I don't get is the rest of the history. You say W-BR has outgrown the dreams of its founders... Why did they join the Amarr? Fresh start? Fresh targets? Bad air on the Caldari side of things? I could easily ask some old Gallente hands, but since You are/were spilling the guts... Please?

W-BR blued a lot of it's available targets on the caldari front, even gallente militia. (As to why, to quote a former member of SOTF, "W-BR got raped by us all the time"). WB-R is not in FW for the sake of FW, but rather building up as a proxy for nullsec (the caldari militia is rather used to this, members of the "old gaurd" regularly take bets on what member counts proxy corps want to reach before leaving militia Lol). While W-BR was still enlisted in the caldari militia it would show up to rep Shadows of the Federation (a gallente corp) when other caldari militia corps were fighting with SOTF. Eventually W-BR and SOTF made an alliance for some time and split up due to conflicts of interest. When the alliance did this, WB-R still had a majority of the caldari militia's high SP pilots so it made sense to join the amarr front and begin recruiting amarr pilots out of the corporations there, in preperation for their second attempt at forming an alliance. While there is talk about W-BR being caldari patriots and what not, its all fluff. There is nothing substaintial behind such claims, and such claims are only made to appear like they're batting for the team and perhaps attempt to sweep some of their past actions under the rug, such as when W-BR betrayed their militia and repped SOTF during engagements. The fact is that the only team they're on is their own.

Aside from all this, the amarr front has more hotdrops and cap warfare for them to batphone raiden. on. Big smile Another good reason to go amarr.

To answer Desra's questions first :

These are the facts without any storytelling Desra:

When WBR started out in caldari militia, the caldari militia was broken and in shambles. Gallente Militia had a lot more manpower available at any and all given times, so it was completely understandable that we recruited like mad. A lot of people simply signed up because our fleets and fights were on average won a great many times more often than any fights where the fleets were led by other caldari corporations. This again is wholly unsurprising - if you have a certain measure of success, people will join you.

This led to WBR topping out at 186 pilots somewhere right when the main Gallente Militia corporation at the time, SOTF, left for 0.0 (R.A.G.E. alliance) to try something different. With that the main leader of the Gallente Militia and the main "heavy muscle" provider for them had left and taken about 120 pilots with them. The other EUTZ Gallente militia coporations could no longer muster the pilots to fight a corporation that had by itself 70-80 people online at primetime EU. We were then starved of fights and activity dropped right until the moment where SOTF, bored from 0.0, came back into FW.

We had stayed in touch with them over the duration of their hiatus because they are a bunch of nice blokes really (<3 Gall). When they then got back, we had a couple of OP's together in 0.0, enjoyed ourselves together, and decided to do the alliance thing.

Up until the moment where we were in the alliance together we consistently shot each other when we weren't in fleet for op's.
Superchair grossly misrepresents what happened in "fleets" because what he refers to is the times where we were in fleet together with SOTF, quite literally on the way to another destination, and then either gallente militia guys agressing WBR or caldari militia guys agressing SOTF and OFC we repped them since they were in a fleet with us. The pilots who did the agressing and were convo'ed and told to gtfo and didn't and subsequently died - well nobody's fault but their own.

When the alliance came to an end due to irreconcilable differences in play styles we were already in Kamela and simply decided to stay there. We then signed up for the amarr militia simply because the Amarr/Minmatar area was quite hot and is actually still quite decent providing activity for hungry pilots.

This should shed some light on the things you asked about Desra Blink

Now on to Superchairs allegations:

First off, the mandatory : Superchair, show me on the doll where W-BR touched you.

1. We didn't blue anybody, and especially not Gallente militia. You can refer to my post above for the explanation in regards to the confusion that was had by everyone in both militia's up until we were formally in an alliance.

2. Yeah of course we lost fights against the Gallente, especially in the beginning, much much less and won our fair few share towards the end. To quote another SOTF member "its unbelievable the progress you guys have made in such a short time".

3. As for your "old guard" members, they should really stop flying purger drakes and ravens without prop mods if they ever want to stop getting laughed at.

4. We never had a lot of "high-sp" caldari pilots; however all W-BR pilots always exactly trained the pvp ships that were required making it appear as though we'd have a lot of high sp pilots. We never did though. Today that's different of course.

5. As far as our loyalty goes: We're loyal to our friends and allies. Whichever flag we fight under, we do so with motivation, honor and dedication.

6. Although it may seem to sore people like you that the only team we're on is our own, fact is that when you fly with an organised group which supplies more numbers to the front lines than you do, then you'll have to adapt to them not the other way around. Can't believe people are still bringing this crap up just because we insisted on people training for Abaddons a little over a year ago (worthy of note : the so-called "old guard" still preferred to fly propmodless torp ravens instead a year later).

To finish off the irony of it all:

YOU went with your corporation Hell's Revenge into 0.0 (but failed and came back) W-BR never did.

As for the traitor allegation, well suffice to say that YOU sprang over to Quantum Cats when things were not going so well in caldari militia and left all your friends behind and came to shoot at them instead.

Do everybody a favor and go be butthurt in somebody else's thread, or for a change, man up, and rebuild the caldari militia the way YOU think it should be and earn some respect that way.

No, a fight would be going for a good ten minutes before w-br "showed up" to rep SOTF. That's not a joint roam, just saying.

I'm one of many who share this perspective on what happened then. You can attempt to discredit it, by all means.

I gave an answer from the perspective of those still left in the caldari militia, if thats enough to warrant a wall of text from yourself, heres a doll you can show everyone on doll where I touched you.

An allegation is something that is not supported with evidence. Either "pics or gtfo" as they say.

And yes i know that there are some people who've had their feelings hurt a lot when we wouldn't let them fly propmodless torp ravens or purger drakes with AB's.

@ superchair - your 100% wrong mate, the only time wbr repped us was when we were fleeted together - never on any occasion were reps from either side used to help the other unless we were in a fleet heading somewhere (which was normally away from black rise). Whenever we weren't fleeted we were 100 % shooty shooty each other.

FG's description is pretty much spot on tbh.

Also, don't turn a really good topic and write up into the usual ****** flame fests, not cool.

OMG MY BEAUTIFUL THREAD Sad

Super Chair what are you doing?

There is a particular reason this thread only mentioned the positive aspects of that time period. Reason being it is meant to be an insperational story to those on the underdog's side like the currect state of the Caldari for example.

There is no shortage of bad blood and history within the Caldari Militia yet to shine the light on the positive and the good is what differentiates this thread from every other mudslinging FW thread. The message and insperation it tries to convey to the reader.

Why you want to come in here an start slinging mud in my thread is beyond me but if you are trying to re-establish yourself as a Caldari leader you truly are going on about it the wrong way.

Please there is no shortage of mud to be thrown around as is evidenced by every other FW thread in these forums.

If anything I ask all (for the sake of the message this thread tries to convey to the Caldari at this moment in time in particular) to keep this thread a positive one.

I supposed you're right in the regard that they're arent really any positive threads. I still have my opinion on the matter, but i'll just leave it at that.

A guy that once probed down a Caldari fleet while in Caldari and warped the Gals on to it, complaining about WTS fleeting together... Hmmm.

I would make some other comments but alas it would make you mean something, and you really don't.

Keep in mind you have to be skeptical of anything that superchair states in regards to FW and Cal militia during that period. This is the same guy while in CAL militia would routinely give intel on militia fleets to the GALs because of his personal vendetta against one person in Militia. So, his perception of reality is flawed at best. I remember during that period some really good fleets with SOTF but when we were not fleeted, it was game on and we fought like beasts against each other. Anyway, the life of WB-R member is a very rewarding experience; never-ending fun.

To Stalking Mantis.
Great read. Someday, if not already, those who were involved will appreciate this and link back to your recap of the second third of the great war as a measure of pride.

To X Gallentius.
I never saw that recap of the first third of the war, but it was an excellent read. I had almost forgotten some of those old names. Thank you for the walk down memory lane.

To the next young pilot enlisted on either side.
Take notes, I look forward to reading your accounts of this next chapter. Hopefully they will smile on us once again.

For the State!
