Hi
In Sing its easy to get anywhere within known space. hisec, low, null are safe and you can test fits, missions, belt rats etc.

But what about w-space?
Is there a chance to add functionality which would allow to insta move me to a w-space system of specific class and environment (effect)?
It would be handy to be able to test ship fits in real w-space, atm its impossible to find entrance from k-space and without an alt on TQ with that mentioned w-space its impossible to get there, at all.

Insta movme to wh system would be handy and i dont see any cons against it, straight me if im wrong.

Cheers

This comes up quite a lot. The most important thing I can think of is that the wormhole we picked for the destination would instantly become a camping hell. Couple of FAQs below.

Q: But Goliath, why not just have one of each class of wormhole to mitigate that?
A: We don't want to add tons of places to the list

Q: But Goliath, couldn't you just have a "random wormhole" function on the moveme command?
A: Probably, but we don't have time right now to look into making it, and the effort-to-result ratio for us would be very low, aside from convenience.

Q: Would wormhole entrances be part of the "content test constellation" you mentioned as a pipe dream in the CSM minutes?
A: Yes, but remember that that is just a pipedream for now!

So, long story short, we aren't going to do anything about it right now, but if you find a dev on Sisi, ask them nicely, supply them with a J- signature ID, are in your ship with all your stuff at the time of conversation and they have time and are feeling benevolent, they might transfer you there.

Why not? Is it difficult to do?

list ..

how mush stress would a /moveme command would put on the stuffs if one could manually pick the system .. something like /moveme Jxxxxxxx some time limit between useing it the next time to avoid the frogs ..

The UI for the tool doesn't really scale very well, and it's not something we want to put any real developer time into at the moment, as it's a convenience feature.

Surely we can /moveme to thera where we have a choice of holes, I did that a while ago and it worked ok then?
I know that doesn't give you effects, but it doesn't take too long to find the class you want in the chain?

I see, i didnt know it could take so much dev time and effort.
But as a feature for a future i would really be glad if this moveme to J-xxxxx function would show up sooner or later.

Thanks motie one for a suggestion. I will try this next time and maybe ill find suitable w-space for my testing this way.

+1 for the random WH class /moveme

I'm used to test some W-Space fits on Sisi server and it would be a really nice feature for me.
I understand it cannot be a priority for the dev, but think about it Big smile

After discussing this a bit internally we are contemplating to add a few extra destinations to the /moveme list, which should be the easiest way for us to make it easier to go to w-space. The drawbacks would be that these will be static locations (random locations would need code changes) and you would need to use the scrollbar in the popup to see all locations.

Are there any good reason against doing this? Would owners of these systems on TQ have any problems with this?

My current candidate systems (semi-random picks, while trying to ensure a good variety and useful statics. I did not check usage of them on TQ):

  • J124504, C6, Red Giant
  • J152820, C5, Pulsar
  • J171225, C4, Black Hole
  • J001348, Shattered C3, Cataclysmic
  • J122137, C2, Magnetar
  • J000528, Small shattered, Wolf-Rayet (/moveme will not restrict ship types - but it is not our problem if you try to use a larger ship there)

Excellent, thanks. Having to scroll down will hopefully not stymie the average singularity user.

Thanks for the work, going to make life easier to do testing in wormholes.

You said "owners" lol. TQ residents, temporary or otherwise, might never see this post. I kind of think you should take a quick look at TQ for massive infrastructure in your random selections, and if you find more than 1-2 towers online, perhaps randomly select another in the same class with less infrastructure. Ships and cans left floating at POS locations might be mildly useful intel to someone.

Thanks, this is very useful, as an aside there Used to be Amarr in the list. that was very useful, is that going to come Back?

Good hint - I'll have a look if I see anything obvious.

Yeah, as we are already increasing the list I'll probably stick in one system per empire (jita, amarr, rens, dodixie - or are any other systems better?)

A question arises - if these systems will be fixed and some ppl will visit them, test their fits in anoms/datas/relics - are those sites will reset somehow and show up later? Or they will be gone until new mirroring from TQ?
How often TQ is mirrored to SiSi? I guess its more than a month or even once per bigger update?

These fixed systems will become empty of normal sites very soon - but most of them (all but the small shattered one) also have static wormholes to other wormholes, which should make it easy to scan down wormholes with untouched sites.

This has been activated now on Singularity.

Following systems are now available: 6-CZ49, Thera, FD-MLJ, Jita, Amarr, Rens, Dodixie, J122137, J171225, J152820, J124504, J001348, J000528

Please let me know if you experience any problems. Oh yeah, when you check it out: Do not hop too fast between the systems and always close the popup from /moveme in between - otherwise the session change timer could get confused.

Disclaimer: If we find any issues with this (which I can not fix easily), we will deactivate these destinations again.
